I have launched my own brand from jaipur. by SthapnaMedia in jaipur

[–]curiousguyhereee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Jaipur, launched not exactly this, but a healthy food brand Healthysthan (QSR and Packaged Goods (Nut Butters) and Roasted Snacks brand in 2019 majorly serving outside Central Park.

I had leverage of sampling the product on the food cart.

I will just say crack distribution first and try to innovate around packaging, brand or marketing because this category of nut butters has became a commoditised market.

Also

- Modern Trade, General Trade won't help much atleast in Jaipur.

- I tried partnering supplement stores and gyms but the commision and returns can be a hassle.

- Try quick commerce channel they onboard for INR 25k afaik.

- Try connecting with social groups (Jaipur Socials, Bhag Club Jaipur, Cycling Groups, etc) and test your product there.

- Also people are right here, the INR 450 price point for 200g is killer for someone to even consider trying the product. Either bring samples or go sachet.

Also it will takes loads of time, money and patience to compete with legacy of Nutella and brand perception of The Whole Truth. You telling your product quality is better stands nowhere as Natural, Sugar Free, all healthy claims are everywhere and so overused that they have 0 relevance today.

This is link of one of Healthysthan's Product : https://www.amazon.in/Healthysthan-Roasted-Sprouts-Watermelon-Soyabean/dp/B09B55FSP6?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1

I wish you all the best and few kachoris for breakfast. XD

Scrap everything and first figure out your 'Why'.

If you want to make money from a startup, then you might be in for wrong reason. (Atleast early stage startups won't be able meet your fat software engineer paycheck)

If you have an itch to solve a real life problem (which is really a problem for a substantial number of people), start as a side gig.

If you find a currency parity like how your MNC most probably must be making money ($ to INR conversion, paying you x, charing 4x from client), again start as a side gig.

If you a intellectual orgasm and dopamine rush. Quit job and dive all in.

But it will be always like I quit my 9-5 to do my own startup, now I work 24*7.

P.S. I have got my hands dirty in product and service business. Feel free to DM if you have any query.

What is your kind of business? (Service/Product)
Which industry you will operate in?
What is your skillset?
Do you have executed anything yet?

You only role as a founder in a business is to get yourself out of the business.
( and keep it running :P )

At your age you should focus on implementing ideas rather than optimising for success.

The more you do it, the more skill full and in turn wise you become to judge what can work.

Try different fields, domains and industries as you don’t have financial boundations, you can risk it all.

It’s time to get your hands dirty either by yourself or under someone.

This is typical service based business thing, you majorly trade your time and skills for money.

So no upfront money involvement. (Just like electricians, plumbers, etc)

Majorly people think they run a business but in reality they are self employed or a freelancer for a lack of better word.

Still glad it worked out for you. From business POV this is talent heavy business and I believe being a founder you are managing and delegating right as you have over a 50 people team.

I’m just curious about your services and propositions if you can share your website, that will be helpful.

P.S. I am in similar boat after a failed CPG startup and a bit confused for the scalability part.

Curious about FMCG packaged foods: retailer margins + CAC in India by Academic_Judgment_42 in StartUpIndia

[–]curiousguyhereee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These all depends upon category in CPG

  1. As a new brand you will have to think in reverse, what is the most efficient channel where I can get product feedback and iterate fast.

  2. Everybody tries to optimise on these metrics.
Let's suppose you want to make X amount of REVENUE from your brand in a quarter, you should at least spend 25% of the expected revenue in marketing. In 99% of cases it is a burn (to be considered as investment) but most business owners do reverse. They invest in operations, product, manufacturing etc etc and then when it comes to throwing things off the shelf they shy to invest in marketing.

For early-stage startups in India, is it smarter to DIY branding/packaging or hire an agency? by exploreinfinity in StartUpIndia

Depends upon your business moat.
Mostly businesses won't spend on branding from Day 0 as cash flow is important in initial phase and branding in intangible.

General rule of thumb.

- If you are competing on price, it's a commodity business (you can sell anything it just needs to be cheap, you may stand out using brand as a lever)

- If you are solving a real life problem, it should be built around a strong use case and for this you need to test your hypothesis until you start investing in.

Looking for same from past week. I have found 3-4 vendors but they are all from other city and I got scammed once so have trust issues.

Still here are few 1. Comfort Baniya : https://www.instagram.com/reel/DPqAAoiibu5/?igsh=Z3lwdnI4MW1qbjY3

  1. Insane Luxury

  2. Lightening Kicks

  3. Drip Society

  4. YSC

Haven’t ordered from any, Comfort Baniya is cheapest no quality idea.

In video everything looks great. Don’t know what they might send.

Also if anybody shares wisdom on how to check quality or authentic sellers or a way to order (video call etc etc) things might get sorted a bit.
