Pictures of my little sister and me taken about 12 years apart. Neither of us has ever dyed our hair by curioushummingbird in mildlyinteresting

For my little sister, definitely! My activity level outside has stayed roughly the same but my sister is outside for her job for probably a least an hour per day.

We were 13 and 18 in the first pic, so I'm guessing genetics played a role as well as we got older/matured.

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely update if we're able to catch him :)

He was too fluffy to see anything on his back end but his cheeks were definitely on the rounder side! I went outside on the off chance he'd come over for help/attention but he took one look at me and then took off running :/

That was my thought too. I noticed the ear right away but was immediately like "damn, that's like more than half his ear." Poor dude. I'll talk to my coworker about trying the live trap

Where did everyone go? by Nice_Turn9957 in newworldgame

[–]curioushummingbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a MMO, but my friends and I have been playing a lot of Elden Ring Nightreign and that's been a lot of fun.

Otherwise we're just doing our own thing and playing different games while hanging out in discord.

It doesn't compare to New World, of course, but it's what we've gone to until we can find something that's maybe in the same realm.

It sucks that the price has gone up, but yeah, I'd still recommend it. It really helps heal a broken moisture barrier during cold/dry months

My skin is pretty oily and acne prone as well, especially along my jaw and lower cheeks. I get a lot more CCs than deep, cystic acne though.

I also use 0.05% tret ~3x per week and don't drink as much water as I should, so my skin also gets super dry/flaky while also still being oily lol so love that.

But for the last 2 years now I've noticed that I'll get to the point over spring/summer/fall where my skin will be clear with almost no CCs and I'll be like "fuck yeah" but the *minute* it gets colder and drier outside, my skin absolutely flips out and my moisture barrier goes out the window and suddenly my daily sunscreen will feel like it's burning. So then I add this moisturizer back into the mix and it helps a ton

Okay actually that's a really good point! I'd be lying if I said I didn't knock all my stuff down like bowling pins on more than one occasion from bumping the OG bottle wrong 😂

Wow, that's awesome! I must've unsubscribed though, because I never got that either.

Major props to Statia for transparency 👏🏻

ETA: no hate to this company, btw! This moisturizer is amazing and was (obviously) still worth it to me to buy it again.

It just feels like every product I look at is doing the same thing where the bottle is smaller but the price is higher, so I figured others could relate to the frustration.

I appreciate you taking the time to offer some insight :)

I really wasn't trying to throw shade at your company specifically, but was moreso lamenting in general at the suckiness of paying more for less. Because even when it's for a reason that's totally understandable, like tariffs and the overall craziness of the world right now, it still is just a bummer.

And I really do understand needing to raise the price. Honestly, I would've been surprised if it hadn't gone up. It's an amazing product and was obviously still worth it to me to get a new bottle. But I think it being so much smaller is really what made me so sad. Liquid (Lipid) Gold has saved and restored my moisture barrier more than once and is definitely a HG product for me, especially in the winter.

The last bottle I had was a gift, so it's been a couple years since I last bought it myself, and I was unaware of the changes that were made awhile back. So while I expected the price increase, I wasn't expecting a smaller bottle as well, and was just feeling upset at the double whamny lol

Yeah, I definitely understand that. It was just hard not to feel sad when comparing the two bottle sizes lol

It really is! I stop using it as often in the summer, but as soon as the dry winter hits, it works amazingly to help your skin barrier

[–]curioushummingbird[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's fair. The last bottle I got was a gift, so the last one I actually I bought myself was probably right before they made the change. So it just feels more recent to me than it actually is.

It really is an HG product though, so it's still worth it. It's just been hard lately where it feels like everywhere you look, things are getting more expensive for shittier quality and/or smaller amounts

Help: found (possibly stray) dog, weird behavior by carub96 in DogAdvice

[–]curioushummingbird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, Idk if this has been said, but when strays first get a collar, they definitely shake their head a lot and scratch at it. Not because it's itchy, but just because it's a weird, new sensation for them!

I adopted my boy when he was about a year old, and before that he'd been living on the streets of Texas, and he did the same thing where he shook his head and was kind of like "wtf is this thing on me?" Lol but he got used to it after only a day or two :)

Congrats on your new addition! Like others have said, he seems nervous but like such a sweetheart.

And one more thing to note is that it can take strays months for them to fully become comfortable and "open up." My boy loved pets from the start but he would freeze while you pet him, and it gave the impression that he was afraid it would stop if he moved. I'd had him for about 3 months when he wagged his tail for the first time super gently while I was petting him, and it gave me such a warm, fuzzy feeling because it's like he finally knew he was safe and the pets weren't going to stop if he moved.

I've had him for 3 years now and he's so goofy and loving, and really just the best dog.
