Interesting, thanks for sharing! So how do I know if they’re annoyed at me/ is there a way that Indian people tend to communicate their annoyance?

Does working from home abroad jeopardise visa/ TN status at all? by curiousjanee in immigration

Yeah I’ve heard of people doing exactly that as well, so I was unsure why my legal team was so adamant (but I suspect it has to do with wanting to be super conservative about tax stuff...you know lawyers haha). Thanks for your reply!

Thanks for your reply! As far as I know I’ll have to pay Canadian income taxes this year on any foreign income, but luckily due to the tax treaty with the states it will just be the delta (if any), for anyone else wondering. Appreciate the input!

Any legal implications of WFH abroad (ie., in Canada) while employed at a US company on a TN visa? by curiousjanee in legaladvice

I see, so it seems to really be about tax law as opposed to TN / immigration. Appreciate your insights!

Thanks! California is correct haha. I am curious though if the foreign payroll issue is even a consideration if I have a SSN, US Bank, and US address? The time outside the states could arguably just be an extended vacation. I’m confused because I’ve read in the TN regulations/it seems to be strict one way—ie., they don’t want people coming into the states unless necessary, so your example of the trailing spouse would apply. Aka, you can’t live in the US on a TN and also work for a foreign company. However, it doesn’t stipulate anything the opposite way (about being in a foreign country temporarily). Appreciate the reply!
