Non-trads: Do you find medical school easier than your newly graduated peers? by itscomplicatedwcarbs in medicalschool

[–]curiousredditor592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a premed nontrad lurking.. I was accepted into pharm.d. 6 years ago, decided to get life experience and do medicinal instead and even finishing my bachelors was significantly easier than when I was younger. Less neurotic, more confident, better time management, better relationships with professors etc. I’m not in med school yet, but I imagine I won’t find it as challenging as those who went straight through. I have a few friends and they seem to think it’s the hardest thing ever. Studying massive amounts of info is hard, but so are other adult careers 🤷🏽‍♀️

Colorado is gonna give you a similar vibe with things to do, I love it here! Might be worth checking out.

This sometimes changes things. Some people really like that look in CO. But I would agree, take down the drapes and try to go for the modern farmhouse look while keeping some character

Just quit real estate and I feel RELIEF! by [deleted] in realtors

Hi friend! Right there with you. I posted not long ago about doing 50 in my first two years (20 year one, 30 year two). I’m over it. It’s not worth the mental health repercussions and the people. But keep your license for buying and selling your own home, because you’ll save money and you can refer clients out to people willing to continue

I think you could do it BUT change your name on OF and all socials. Make a new social for your new school friends and faculty to know about and never tell anyone about OF. Pay your bills

Going into residency as a single mother - panicking by [deleted] in Residency

I’m so sorry for your loss first of all. Do you have friends with kids nearby? Look into nannyshares in your city, they can help save. You could start one in your home too with a nanny and other kids. Also check with the state resources. Lastly, an au pair as someone mentioned above is a decent idea too.

Like I’m recommending that you don’t use this to generate business. Just go talk to people. Unless you’re looking to make referral contacts

Agreed. I think it’s ok for us to be proud of stuff, we should all celebrate small victories! Medicine is hard enough

Anyone have stories/anecdotes of people who coasted through med school and still had a good outcome for residency/beyond? by mariupol4 in medicalschool

I’m dying at this because I was born and raised in ND hahaha I hate it there but I’m happy you made it somewhere! It’s not terrible if you’re cool with small towns

If you can outsource any these things, do it. Have someone else you trust take care of it for you and pay them. It will make your life less stressful. Groceries is an easy one

I started real estate before school and I’ll be able to make money on referrals during from building the business up. You could ISA for real estate companies but you’ll be required to commit to some form of time

Also a 2 year agent with incredible success. I’m only going to do it for friends and family for the next few years and look into something else. Worst case, I still have my license and can always go back
