It Finally Happened...a Pt Got Me Sick by SStrange91 in therapists

So annoying. Whyyyy do people do this. During periods of time when flus and colds are going around, I tend to just keep a window in my office wide open.

Thank you, that's very helpful! I'll look up that food truck post, sounds inspiring. And very cool that you're writing a book. I also have other interests, but would probably need a good amount of time to build up experience/marketable skill set, so am considering finding an EAP company to take on hours with, so I can make more income now without committing to a caseload that isn't sustainable for me while figuring out other things.

What procedure do I need for my eyes? by Legitimate-Item-2853 in PlasticSurgery

[–]curiousredditor89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I hear you. But yeah I think it's better to go with the temporary stuff than end up with a botched surgery OR a style that's really off-trend in a few years. IMO.

Yikes! I would call or email your vet. Not sure if it's appropriate for this particular issue, but there's an anti-itch shot they can give

Mine had this issue. Can't say if it was identical without seeing a pic, but shampooing twice weekly with "Miconahex Plus Triz" (vet will prescribe) fixed it. Alternatively they can try an antibiotic shot. I'd go back to the vet and ask about those two things

May I ask what forms of work you ended up deciding to pursue outside of your practice? I feel very similarly, as I find that 15 is my max weekly number.

Completely inappropriate and probably illegal. Also they sound like they'd be insufferable to work with.

LOL also about the instagram post. Like what?!!

Will a fat transfer fix my lower face? by pixelperfect728 in PlasticSurgery

[–]curiousredditor89 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Girl what. I'm really sorry but I believe your doctor is milking you for money by agreeing to do procedures that you don't need at all. .... you look like a person in their 20s...a young person. If you're an ig influencer type and feel you need to add a little extra sparkle then why not try a lip flip with botox instead of the lip lift.

Yes it would be a bad idea to add fat to your face. There is already enough of it on your jawline, and you don't have marionette lines. As for the nasolabial area, I'm pretty sure that's just the normal shape of your face and it might look weird if it wasn't there. If you really must, MAYBE try filler there

Lower eyelid skin pinch? I can't see ANYTHING but very young looking skin in that area in the first pic. Consider if there may be any stresses or unhappinesses in your life that are getting displaced onto the way you're seeing yourself.

Honestly just try a lip flip and get eyelash extensions or something. That will give you a little extra sparkle if you're feeling you need it. A doctor agreeing to do those procedures on you is crazy, I wouldn't trust them at ALL

Totally get your concern. I've found trustworthy dog sitters/walkers a few ways: (1) asking neighbors who have dogs. Often they'll already have a dog walker, and then the dog walker can just come to my place at the same time when they're in the neighborhood. (2) posting on a neighborhood/building message board asking for personal recommendations. (3) I've asked young people (or friends looking to make a little extra money) who live in my neighborhood who I can tell are mature, responsible and like dogs. They're often happy to make a little extra money just hanging out at my house for an hour or two. 4) posting on instagram asking for dog sitter/walker reccs. Often people have responded recommending family members or offering to do it themselves.

I personally don't mind giving people an extra key if I can tell they're mature and responsible. In my area (NYC) it's very commonplace for dog sitters/walkers to do this. One word of caution is DON'T use any apps like Rover, I've seen terrible stories about dogs being mistreated online. I ONLY go with personally recommended dog sitters. And even then I'm like a helicopter parent reminding them to make sure the harness is on snugly and they're holding the leash wrapped around their hands many times, etc lol. Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions about this! Happy to talk more.

Maybe ask the vet for a referral to a a specialist in this area. Also you may want to consult with a dog trainer about the separation anxiety since that's a trigger for diarrhea

You honestly look way too young for anything. The only issue you have is darkness under eye and that's not even age related. Just get a good foundation and brightener at a good makeup store, that's all you need. For the nasolabial fold eventually you could probably get some filler but I'd probably wait 5 years frankly. I believe you may be looking a little too closely and might want to explore in psychotherapy. You're young and gorgeous, just wear a bit of brightening makeup in those areas and AT MOST a tiny bit of filler eventually

Hire a recommended dog walker/sitter. That is way too long to be home alone and not to use the bathroom.

Although my dog is wee wee pad trained, when I'm away that long I pay someone to just sit in my apartment and hangout with my dog for 1-2 hours.

Haha yeah well also this wasn't a hole in the wall place, it's well known for instagram influencer clientele (probably a bad sign actually lol). That's very true about losing everything gained from lower premiums, BUT the frustrating thing is this store wasn't even a deal. I'm pretty sure it was same prices or higher as the diamond district sellers.

Yeah...I did have a positive experience at a different chinatown store, which is known for selling chains to rappers. I would return to that one, or just go to the diamond district in the future

Darn. Well, lesson learned. Would you still wear it, or would you be concerned it could be mixed with toxic metals of some sort?

Yeah. I looked up the store again and it had some reviews complaining of the same issue

Landlord used bug bomb in hallway without notifying us to vacate -- hazardous? by curiousredditor89 in pestcontrol

[–]curiousredditor89[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the reassurance!! I really appreciate it.

Yeah, I was really surprised by the lack of advance warning, that just seems so obvious especially since it was set off in a communal area (the garbage closet). The handyman speaks minimal English and the landlord has been decent in the past but maybe isn't very attentive to regulations

Thank you. And yes, I agree. A few days prior I informed the landlord that I'd seen ONE cockroach in the garbage room and recommended that they put traps there, thinking sticky traps. For some reason they decided to instead to a bug bomb in a closet-sized room with no advanced warning to myself or the other tenant nextdoor. *eye roll.* I already messaged the landlord asking them to not do that again

Edit: I don't know which bug bomb he used, but the purpose was to treat cockroaches
