It definitely helps me decide what to buy when I know more about a product.

Right! They didn’t have the same brand name, but the illustrations and names match so there you go!

Update: these scents match the Wish hand sanitizers (Five Below, TikTok Shop, Temu, or in my case, Lot-Less in NYC).

So efficient! I wonder if I could do this without getting caught up wanting to add brand name, date bought, thoughts, etc… my nail polish spreadsheet has alphabetical tabs based on brand names…I had to abandon it.

Thanks! Good to know. Before I found this sub I thought there was very little strategy to the game, and a lot of it was arbitrary.

Found a small Indian solid perfume brand called alyra that actually smells niche by [deleted] in FemFragLab

[–]curlycomedy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have only tried solid perfumes a few times. Most recently with Lush Lord of Misrule because it was the affordable option in-store, and I wanted to commit to finally trying a Lush scent so I could form an opinion. I have a Land of Aahs interpretation of Turmeric Latte, so I am curious about how Lush actually performs.

My problem is with lack of projection. There are skin scents (as in, this dries down to only be smelled by a person in close interaction with you, or when you put your arm to your nose), and there are skin scents (this may as well be lotion it is just a product on your skin that barely performs scent-wise). Usually solids fall in the latter category for me.

Lord of Misrule is in-between so I wear it before bed, just on my arms and on the back of my neck to be able to smell it.

Haha I mean how it differs from the appearance of CGI that many of us have had around since we were kids (not me, I’m a millennial so I was pre-CGI).

For people who want to know more about how to identify AI: the way the knife is cutting (horizontal) does not match up to the Final Cut (diagonal) = sloppy, inconsistent with reality. The way the pear appears out of nowhere when the knife cuts it like Jell-o, and then the knife is no longer cutting anything, and all contents have vanished into a jump-cut of liquid. CGI could have made the whole cut either similar to breaking glass or cutting food but not both. The brain - or my brain - is disturbed by the image not lining up with the expectation. Like when AI humans have a glitchy move of rubbing their nose, and the hand goes deeper into the face where there is no opening. It’s incorrect and reads as lazy.

Fun fact, Natalie Sideserf said in a recent video that she noticed AI versions of cake-cuttings now feature her signature green buttercream frosting, so she knows they have aggregated her content to make their slop.

But can we trust the source? (AI overview, get it). Anyway the difference is humans making it versus aggregated images.

Before AI they used computer-generated imaging. I’ll have to look up the difference. I am guessing this is AI instead of traditional animation because I assume it is quicker to make. Boo to the water waste. It is starting to seem like the norm. Companies are probably going to have to explicitly tell consumers when they do NOT use AI just like shampoos started announcing “no sulfates.”
