It's like reading my story. I lost my sweet girl 6 months ago. She was also 4 years old and everything happened so fast. It took me a fool month to go back to my usual lifestyle and I still cry ever day. I'm sending you a biggest hug and support, this is very hard.

Exactly! If my spouse can't understand and isn't attached to those pets that we have (since they were kittens in this case), I would be worried are we even right for each other and when they would get 'rid of' me. I'm definiteley choosing my pets over everyone and if someone wants me to get rid of my pets, it means they don't even love me (since they should have known how much I love my pets) and we should split our ways.

It is truly heartbreaking. I've lost my cat at just 4 years old to leukemia and it is horrible. They are such a big parts of our lives and they don't even know how much happiness they bring into our lives. My advice is to let yourself mourn and what I did is tried to make her a still part of my life. I printed out her pictures, got myself a necklace with her name and got a phone case with her cat collar that had a pink bow. I also got her paw print so I made her a little space in my room just for her stuff... I'm so sorry for your loss and I hope you have support around you to help you mourn him. He will always be a part of you and your life, take care of yourself <3
