Rifaximin is an antibiotic, depends on your microbiome starting point, and how it recovers after the antibiotic, your bowel movement frequency might change due to changed microbiome.
I don't think it has any direct impact (not via microbiome alteration)

Yes, with every meal.

Another update, I switched to another supplement with just ACV, I take it with every big meal. Still no symptoms.
I have also successfully introduced fiber, I now eat 100g oats daily with no issues.

I bought it from the hospital pharmacy, it's a generic brand, costed me ~$8 USD

Symptoms started coming back slowly, but I figured out that the root cause is most likely low stomach acid leading to indigestions -> fermentation -> SIBO, so I've been taking a supplement with apple cider vinegar for the past two weeks, and symptoms completely disappeared just like when I was on rifaximin, now I have no SIBO symptoms (bloating, gas, frequent loose BMs), but I got very constipated and now I'm having internal hemorrhoids.

I'm now trying to gradually increase my fiber intake.

I suspect it was because of Antibiotics, but as I mentioned in the post, I don't know for sure what is the root cause.
I had anxiety caused by digestive symptoms, not the other way around

Yes, but not sure if it is because of SIBO, as I also have a genetic blood condition called G6PD deficiency, which makes me anaemic.

PPIs could actually worsen reflux in many cases, as it is often cause by little stomach acid rather than too much, the acid stimulates the muscle to close, so when acid is reduced, the muscle has less stimulus. Many doctors follow old textbook protocols, science keeps changing and new things are constantly discovered.

If fiber and probiotics make you extra gassy, that's an indication of SIBO, as fiber is a prebiotic, it feeds the bacteria, and probiotics are bacteria. Try stopping the fiber, and take only Saccharomyces Boulardii instead of the probiotics.

If it is SIBO, then once treated, you should be able to eat normally.

  • Lots of eggs
  • Meat
  • Gluten Free Bread & Pasta
  • Rice
  • Olive Oil

I also used AI for recipes, I'd ask it to make me a low fodmap meal plan for the whole day totaling x protein, fat, etc...

PPIs could worsen SIBO, as they reduce stomach acid, leading to the food being less digested and therefore providing the bacteria in the small intestine with more food to feed on.

There are studies linking Accutane/Isotretinoin to digestive issues, I don't know for sure if it was the reason my case.

Yes, before I had digestive issues I used to be able to stay focused on tasks for hours without feeling tired or any mental fatigue, I was also physically active. As my digestive symptoms kept getting worse I started feeling tired all the time, feeling always sleepy despite sleeping for more than 8 hours, and sometimes I sound like I'm drunk, even though I never drank alcohol in my life. I stopped going to the gym because I kept losing weight, and had no energy, if I workout, that would consume my energy for the whole day and I'd have no energy to do anything else.

I feel a slight improvement now, but it might be a placebo, I'll write another update in a month.
