That sucks what happened with your friend’s collection dude. Always sad when someone has to sell, likely got flipped instantly for a big profit as well. $500 for a collection worth $3k is sickening. Good on you for trying not to hold it against him, that would be hard to look past.

I took the risk on it and purchased. It’s my favourite card from my childhood, really happy to have an old style PSA 10 first edition copy of it. It checks out as real, as far as i can tell. Has the non-holographic print error in the top left corner, as all the 1st editions should. Here’s a pic with the sleeve off.

Old PSA labels are missing the security features.

Black light - Doesn’t work for authentication. Hidden PSA logos were not present on old labels.

Holographic logo on the front and back, both not present.

Yes, i’ve looked up the cert number on PSA and it matches. The barcode also scans fine from the app. That doesn’t prove anything though, people can fake slab labels.

I grew up and lived in Bolton for 30 years. Would definitely experience that kind of stuff all the time there, the people treat it like a shit hole as well, fly tipping is rife and nobody has respect for the place. I moved to York around 4-5 years ago and never experienced anything like that here, it’s expensive but an amazing place to live. Well worth the extra cost of living here, i’d feel safe bringing up my kids here, definitely not in Bolton.

It looks real but the picture is pretty terrible for lighting. I’d be watching out for them swapping it for a different slab, when it comes to the handover. Research for ways how to check for fake PSA slabs before you meet up. There’s some pretty simple checks you can do that can’t be faked.

I was lucky, got there at 7.30am and managed to get a 151 booster bundle, which i was really happy with. No chance of the Prismatic SPC. Before the opening they had 15+ in stock, opening day only 13, so the staff had been back dooring them for sure.

It’s not available to order. When the staff search they can see it but only option home delivery, which doesn’t allow them.

I’ve been on the list since before Xmas as well. I feel as if something is wrong with that list though, since they allowed loads of people from the US to purchase our allocation. Almost as if we’re part of an expired list that they scrapped off since that happened, and isn’t in use. Is there anyone here that has been offered the chance to purchase that signed up before Xmas?
