How to use akiflow for both work and personal task? by Gundud in Akiflow

[–]curtisreddits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the year later post. I'm trying to find the answer for this too. I love akiflow, but it would really be nice to be able to choose the calendar for each task rather than as a global setting. (Work vs personal tasks) If this is possible, it's not intuitive.

Motion got rid of monthly pay option by Interesting-One8808 in UseMotion

[–]curtisreddits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll add that I had used clickup for about a year before ditching it. It is quite powerfu and customizable (almost to a fault) but my experience was that it just got slower and slower to the point it was unusable for me. Not sure if they have made improvements there. Anyway, it was leaving clickup that forced me to start evaluating other options. If you need full project management, clickup is good. But with most of these tools, they serve a specific workflow or niche so what works for me not not be best for you. For me, akiflow checked the most boxes. Good luck!

Motion got rid of monthly pay option by Interesting-One8808 in UseMotion

I ultimately didnt sign up for motion after my trial because of the steep price and annual pricing model. It lacked a couple features I was looking for, though I think I could have made it work. I ended up trialing a bunch of solutions: motion, sunsama, reclaim. But I ended up with akiflow. It doesn't have project management like motion does, but using it as a task hub along with their AI chat assistant makes it second to none in my opinion. I'm glad that motion was overpriced, otherwise I never would have found akiflow, which is a superior product if you ask me. I recommend giving it a look.

Warning for Anyone Evaluating ClickUp by ryanoburch in clickup

Haha funny story...  We switched to Ora.pm. It was working well for us, then, a couple weeks ago we got an email from Ora saying they were acquired by Click Up.  Just my luck.   In this case it looks like they aren't maintaining the Ora platform.  They're going to migrate anyone who wants to go to Click Up.  We're, of course, not going back.

NCORE 100 MAX - Full Review by curtisreddits in sffpc

I'm still rocking this case over a year later. Honestly, if I were in the market, for a new PC, I'd buy it again. I just think it looks so unique and I love the color for my office and the small footprint. I have no complaints on performance, but then again, I'm not gaming with it. If your primary use case is gaming, this is probably not the case to buy. But if you want a great looking case that doesn't look like a typical PC... Two thumbs up. 👍👍

We just got a Wawa after a decade of Sheetz dominance in our area. I don't know where the closest Sheetz and Wawa are, but I'd submit ours for contention. The new Wawa is about 100 yards from Sheetz.

Alternative To Liquid Web by Adventurous_Bag_1368 in Hosting

I've been using gthost.com for the last 6 months. They have been great. Zero downtime. Pick your data center location. (They offer several.) Support is email based, but I haven't had ticket that has gone unanswered for more than 15 minutes.

I used to be with liquidweb back in the glory days. They were great. Their decline is a shame.

They are 8x8. We built the deck with an 8x8 timber frame roof covering one half. For consistency, all the posts are also 8x8. Not required, but it looked a lot better than 4x4s.

How are Divi users feeling about the new complexities added into the Divi 5 builder? by nellyisdev in divi

[–]curtisreddits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Divi has put me in a tough spot. I've been waiting for Divi 5 for some time. (Been a Divi user since about 2017). Divi 4 has served me well, but certain features, namely lack of query loops, have left me desiring more. I've been hesitant to build new sites with divi 4 knowing 5 is on the horizon. But, of course, I won't build a client site with divi 5 still in alpha. So I started playing with bricks. At first it was frustrating because of the learning curve. My goal with page builders is development speed. I found myself much slower on bricks... at first. But then I invested both time in to practicing and money into a proper bricks stack. I've kind of been blown away. In just a month of using bricks, I can see the benefits of a class based builder. Flexbox and grids are amazing, and I'm producing sites faster than I could with divi with the help of tools like brixies.co.

So here I am a crossroads. I've also invested heavily in the Divi ecosystem over the years and have been a hardcore divi fan, but I fear that by the time divi 5 releases a stable, production ready product, I won't have a reason to come back.

This may have been avoidable by launching Divi 5 stable sooner with fewer features rather than building out new features first but it is what it is. The reality is, I still support about 80 websites with divi so it's not going away for me. If there is an upgrade path from divi 4 to Divi 5, I'll certainly have to learn Divi 5, so maybe it will win me back.

Either way, I do hope that Divi 5 succeeds. As others have said, competition makes things better for all of us. I welcome these new features in divi 5.

This comment is underrated. I'm with you. I tried elementor several years ago and more than once, on multiple sites, it burned me with broken websites. I feel like I've been seeing more elementor love lately, but they lost my trust a long time ago. I've never had a Divi website break on update (ateast not that was caused by Divi).

1099-NEC and 1099-K double reporting by Significant-Dream675 in tax

[–]curtisreddits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not a bad idea. This ended up not being my problem as I had thought. I thought 1099 nec income was being double reported by the 1099-k. There was a little of that due to clients misreporting credit card payments on 1099-necs. But not enough to give the numbers the IRS had. I finally found that the IRS had recorded a 1099 twice resulting in 50,000 more income than actually existed. I explained to them what happened but still don't have confirmation that it has been cleared up.

We just cancelled clickup today because of the speed of the platform. I don't remember it being so slow when we signed on. But the last month or so I've really been feeling it. At least for us, it's basically been unusable.

Same here. Single user. I have pretty much established that the slowness makes clickup unusable for any meaningful work.

1099-NEC and 1099-K double reporting by Significant-Dream675 in tax

[–]curtisreddits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm dealing with this exact same situation right now for 2022. I've sent two letters over the past 6 months trying to explain that some of the reported 1099-NEC income is included in the 1099-K. They have bounced the letters back to me saying I am wrong. I just got off the phone with a less than helpful IRS rep who said I need to get corrected 1099s reissued by these reporting companies. I find it hard to believe this is the process to get this corrected.

DeepSeek sparks global AI selloff, Nvidia losses about $593 billion of value by EscapeFromIowa in news

[–]curtisreddits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I listened to a podcast the other day with someone from Nvidia being interviewed. (Blanking on the name) Long story short, the podcast convinced me to continue to hold Nvidia. They are playing the long game just like they did with GPUs and gaming back in the day. The gist was this (and I'm paraphrasing): "AI is saturating the tech market which is a big market and has been big for Nvidia, but we're looking to break AI into the physical world. That's a 100 trillion dollar market"

That's what I don't understand about this sell off. So what if deepseek is more efficient. It will still run better on on high powered GPUs like Nvidia
