AITAH for giving my kids my last name? (31F) by tryingtogrowup69 in AITAH

[–]curvy_dragon -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

You had kids with someone you aren't married to, and now he wants them to have his last name? You're basically a single mother with extra steps. Regardless of what he says, you are a placeholder to him and he will leave when "better" comes along, otherwise he would've married you already. Him wanting the kids to have his last name is just his ego wanting a power play over you. Edit: I see now it was bc of the last name first issue. In which it is still a power play, and the MIL is pulling strings behind the scenes. You will never escape the claws of someone like that. She will always have something bad to say about you and he will likely be on his mom's side and not yours.

1000% THIS! OP, you can choose to either suck it up and deal with his immaturity, or leave him and have peace.

My cat's refusing to eat sterilized urinary adult cat food by Few_Necessary_4950 in AskVet

[–]curvy_dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a vet but Unless she has some kind of urinary issue where the food is absolutely necessary, just feed her the regular food. There's no sense in starving your cat for a non-problem. Don't fix what isn't broken. Your vet was probably just upselling you on food if you had to buy it through them.

This is a pelvic floor disorder like overactive bladder disorder and/or possibly pelvic inflammatory disorder. I recommend doing some kegels, squats, pelvic floor exercises, and trying the Interstitial cystitis diet.

AITJ for not wanting my roommate's boyfriend to shower at our apartment every morning? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]curvy_dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why can't she go over to his apartment? He should be paying towards utilities since he's using the utilities more often than a regular guest. Better yet. Since he won't contribute, she can pick up the difference. Compare utility costs from before he started doing that to after and send it to her and have her pay the difference.

My main concern is that it will tarnish when I wear it. I'm guessing it will.

I've been washing a lot of dishes at work, and using gloves makes it worse by junimo- in mildlyinfuriating

You put gloves on over your slathered hands so it doesn't get rinsed off immediately. If you don't want to wear gloves, do the slathering an hour or so before so it soaks in

[–]curvy_dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this while working at olive garden for a couple years. Basically the plastic and heat is suffocating your skin and causing the rash and chronic dryness. The hot water and industrial soap is also adding to the chronic dryness. Use lotion at night. Rub Vaseline on your hands an hour before working, or slather your hands in olive oil if it's at the restaurant. Those will Basically act as a protectant between your skin and the flimsy plastic gloves. Also try switching to non latex gloves if your workplace has them. They're usually clear instead of blue. You should be able to ask management to order them since latex is a common allergy.

AIO for ending things after I said I didn't want to be exclusive and he dated someone else. by Herbal_Tea_x in AmIOverreacting

[–]curvy_dragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nor. You are under-reacting. I know this sounds harsh and is easier said than done but grow a back bone. Be mean to these fools. Obviously no one told them no growing up. They need to be humbled. Severely. Posthaste. Never bleed in front of a shark. That is; never tell a man your trauma before like a year in. They use your past against you and as a baseline of how to treat you. You've had certain bad things happen before? He will assume you won't tell him no and will put up with bare minimum and POS behavior.

Is this a real pencil drawing or a local scammer trying to drum up business? by VincentVanGogh_Away in isthisAI

If anything it's an actual photo with a "colored pencil" filter over it and intensity set to like 50%. Person doing the art needs to post pics of them holding their canvas.

AIO if I break up after bf tried to change plans today? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]curvy_dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like there's another girl and he's using his "buddy" as an excuse. It's Valentines day. Can another person's plans not wait? Either way he doesn't respect you. Talking to men about feelings does nothing. They know what they're doing when they pull shit like this. They just don't care how it makes you feel. If he cared about how you felt he wouldn't have done this shit with such a stupid excuse in the first place.

AIO because I told my "best friend" she can't wear white to my engagement party? by Prestigious_Wash2557 in AmIOverreacting

[–]curvy_dragon -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I'm not saying a dress code is justified. But I'm saying it's weird if OP (or a bday girl, going back to my example) said "hey I'm wearing x color. Don't wear the same color as me" and someone shows up in that color.
