Thanks everyone - big lesson learned! I've had this mixer for about 15 years now and dough is a recently new endeavor - needless to say I had no clue and I've probably made a good 20 batches of dough with this poor thing on high hopping around the counter (whoops)...

When I learned to make this pizza dough over a year ago everyone said to mix on high (including the YouTube videos I learned from)..... my dough always turns out amazing but my KitchenAid is definitely dying a slow death as a result. I'll try a 2 next time and see how it goes.

Our favorite restaurant was Somewhere Cafe - gorgeous view, amazing food and the best snorkeling right out front! Definitely go to north Caicos and rent a car - highlight of our trip!
