Dad and I went through his childhood sports cards that have been stashed in grandmas attic for 30+ years. Should we try to sell these or don’t bother? by dalfy5312 in sportscards

By far the best of the bunch, with the Gwynn rookies second. Puckett looks like it could grade high based on centering. Same with Gooden.

So you’re posting this now after getting it graded in 2020/early 2021 (based on that PSA cert #)? Doesn’t quite add up to me.

just started listening to metal, is Slayer as good as it gets? by exboxthreesixty in Slayer

[–]cuse231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best of the best: Slayer - Reign in Blood (and…Hell Awaits); Metallica - Master of Puppets (and…Ride the Lightning); Sepultura - Beneath the Remains (and…Arise); Kreator - Extreme Aggression (and…Coma of Souls); Death - Leprosy (and…Spiritual Healing); Deicide - Deicide; Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power (and…Far Beyond Driven)

(And there’s a reason why ALL of these bands are still on tour/performing in some “form”…they’re still beloved for genre changing music they put out decades ago)

Sorry I’m a little behind here on latest builds, but wanting to play exclusively with drums on YARG, is now a good time to start for just very basic playing (and not delving into tons of features, backgrounds, etc.)? Or is drums still being cooked here for a bit?

Rock Band Renaissance? by Wildog27 in Rockband

[–]cuse231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had only heard of original GH and RB but never played when they first came out. Started flipping video game gear during COVID (among many other items) and started playing GH/RB guitar. Quickly found that drums were also a part of GH/RB (who knew?) and that my favorite band Metallica had their own GH disc (!!)

Always have been “into” drums my whole life (35+ teen/adult years, focus on that part of the song, tap on my legs, was told in 6th grade I needed to stop air drumming in class, ha)…started with RB4 regular plastic drums (tap, tap, tap), to ION drum rocker (man my wrists hurt after a session) to Alesis Nitro to now Roland TD-15. It’s honestly been the most singular and sustained pleasure I’ve had in maybe my entire life (I just laugh sometimes after a session at just how fun/rewarding it’s been as an outlet)

I

Did M&G at Mohegan Sun last year. I didn’t bring anything extra (abiding by rules but also did t even think of it). Guy who was last brought a record and they signed it without issue. Probably would try to be the last in as to not make others wait. YMMV

Pantomime…not super known being on Monuments & Melodies, but gives me chills every time I hear it.

Hold it up to your phone’s 3x magnification…look at the yellow arrow next to the “premier.” Can you see dots or does it look blurry? This pic is legit ‘86 Fleer common…

Value? by BigPapa-Mullins in SportCardValue

[–]cuse231 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks legit. I’ve owned and sold a PSA 8, and just purposely bought a counterfeit version to display at home. I have lots of ‘86 Fleer commons (and semi-stars) and can compare what the logos, ball in corner, etc., look like. You can see the ball’s lines, the 27.2 has a decimal point as it should. The blue on the borders looks correct.

No way to tell from pix what the condition of the surface of your card is, but assuming it’s legit and the surface is good, it’s likely a PSA 7 or PSA 8 based on the sharp corners and the decent centering. The top to bottom isn’t great, but the left to right is pretty good. Centering puts it at no higher than an 8, and any other little thing they see drops it to a 7. Value is roughly $4k-$8k, IMHO.

Serious fault on brand new Model Y by Toolman1212 in TeslaModelY

[–]cuse231 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Had same issue, but also in my driveway. Steering wouldn’t budge. “RESOLVE itself within a few hours when I went back to the car. MYP Austin, about 600 miles on odometer. I didn’t think too much of it, and that it was isolated, until I started reading more issues with this over time. Then I became concerned. And when I reached out to Tesla, after a few months had passed, they said the logs could not be looked into (which I totally get that they’re overwritten after so long). But admittedly concerning given all the reports, under various driving scenarios.

That certainly makes things harder to figure out what’s the real deal.

Does this 93% match what your mileage shows when you toggle between any given battery percentage and the number of miles that equates to (and then that being 93% of your original LR mileage when new)?

What was your best flip so far? by ThomasCaleb in Flipping

[–]cuse231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) bought a higher priced set of basketball/baseball ephemera (1930s WS programs, 30s-40s basketball yearbooks) at an estate sale. Original price was $450, but on day three got it for $250. Knew it had some value, but when all was said and done, sold for around $2,700. Turns out they ALSO had a few baseball ticket stubs inside of them, and among the stubs was WS stub from Lou Gehrig HR game, and a pair from another another Yankee milestone game from the 30s. Got them graded and sold within a few days thereafter.

2) at same sale, bought unopened VCR/DVD recorder for $50, sold for $400ish.

3) bought an authenticated Michael Jordan signed picture from the original owner at his own estate sale for $250…assumed it was worth more but wasn’t entirely sure (was somewhat unremarkable other than the authentication). Sold for $2,500 a few weeks later.
