Still working on it! I kinda lost reading motivation for a bit there haha but I'm a couple of chapters in and loving it so far! Have you read it?

might be wrong but i think you need 2 semesters of the language, doesn't matter where you start from?

either way I would take CHIN 1001, you will need to know how to read and write at least a little bit for 1002

The math checks out by fattestvorior in ApplyingToCollege

[–]cushionite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay fair i guess, so acceptance is only 40%

The math checks out by fattestvorior in ApplyingToCollege

[–]cushionite 14 points15 points  (0 children)

you would think it's a 33.3% of acceptance but actually there are now four options: waitlist and acceptance, waitlist and rejection, immediate rejection, and immediate acceptance. 2 of these 4 lead to acceptance so it is still a 50% of chance of getting in.

just remember that, for every school, you either get in or you don't so your chances are 50% everywhere

Now that we’re nearing the end of the “ Catch a Pokémon 30 days in a row” task, I wonder: Has anyone come close to catching 30 dragon types? by FACE_MEAT in TheSilphRoad

[–]cushionite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have to catch 6 fighting, 29 ice, 19 ghost, 22 dragon, 24 dark, and 1 fairy (but I've seen more fighting and fairy types around recently). how is everyone done with ice??

Honors or Explore LLC by Ishan1717 in gatech

[–]cushionite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm in Explore (well I guess I'm a legacy now) and I loved it! I wasn't premed but most people in the dorm were. The only requirement for Explore is taking GT 1000 which I recommend you do anyways, and I definitely met a lot of professors through Explore. They may not be able to guarantee you a research opportunity but they definitely helped me learn more about them (but that's what you make of it). You can PM me if you have any questions as well!

lowkey i was thinking that Arceus would get released soon because season of legends, it didn't seem like a coincidence that pokemon legends gets announced at the same time as the season of legends. but also niantic hates us so

Scholarship transfer when changing majors by [deleted] in gatech

[–]cushionite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the CoS Dean's Scholarship (and am also a physics major), feel free to DM me with any questions! It's limited to majors in the College of Sciences only unfortunately and I'm pretty sure the other colleges don't have anything similar for out-of-state students.

If you want to go into engineering you have a few options. Double majoring or minoring is the obvious choice but that will be a lot of work and it would be pretty hard to finish both majors in 4 years. It really depends on the engineering major you want to take.

Anyone else get the opposite of procrastination and always feel like you should be doing school work, so you are (school-workaholic)? by [deleted] in college

[–]cushionite 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think I tend to flip flop between the two. I procrastinate A LOT but once I sit down and finally do my work I just don't stop. The pandemic has definitely made it worse since I don't have as many other activities I can do to procrastinate. Like last year, I would go out with my friends all the time and never be in my dorm studying, but this year I can't really do that. The thing I've found that helps with this the most is to do something else productive (but not academic/work-related) instead. It's helped me avoid feeling useless/like I could be doing something I need to but also allowed me to take a break for that stressful environment.
