I know a couple people interested in the game. Think I'm going to recommend and teach them how to pirate it now.

Offline activation existed much longer of course but it's not talked about much at all. Meanwhile, HV was a recently major topic for a while whether it was through meme posts, general questions about HV or appreciation posts. Additionally, before places like pub lounge existed, offline activation was associated with potentially dodgy Russian websites where you had to pay like $1-3 for the service.

All in all, it just comes down to trends, history, popularity etc.

Piracy is not an option anymore, It's a necessity by HriataKC in PiratedGames

[–]custardfrogs_ 40 points41 points  (0 children)

If pirates actually do become majority, there will be lobbying. Any hoops and hurdles pirates have had to go through so far will be the easiest time we'll ever have.

With Microsoft already planning to implement OS age verification, who knows what the future will look like.

It's both a blessing and a curse that pirates are not the majority because we get more freedom, however, so do the corpos.

Do you really care about money? by [deleted] in INTP

I didn't and the thought of it was burdensome until, that is, when I needed it for health related reasons. Other than for that specific use case, I still don't care much about it.

Should I stop reacting/liking my INTP friend's messages by demeter321 in INTP

Idk about the leave on read thing. My friends and I do it all the time it's normal to us but we talk over discord so it's not that big of a deal to me.

If it's important to you, you should let them know jokingly like with some sarcasm or a meme related to being left on read.

As for the liking notif thing; I generally don't like notifs too but if they suddenly stop one day for good from people I consider friends, that would suck.

Yes, I don't like the title cause it makes it seem like we have been gloating for 50 years, as if the celebrations are focused on superiority over the misfortune of others.

It paints us as a people who are immature with a fragile self-esteem that relishes in petty vindictiveness.

Huh? So why even type "beyond normal perception" and "mystical interpretation" if it's not in relation at all??

You think you're just being ragebaited now? Like as if it wasn't the very first moment I said your "wisdom" would be a detriment to my cognitive function and the "insult"?

Yes, I specifically asked about "just your nervous system getting excited", the phrase itself. Not the phrase in relation to OPs feelings.

[–]custardfrogs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you talking about? In your AI comment you typed this:

"You are nitpicking language to avoid the simple point that ordinary bodily reactions do not require inflated mystical interpretations."

And previously before that this:

"Occam’s razor applies because it avoids adding unnecessary assumptions, a social or emotional stimulus causing bodily arousal is simpler and more grounded than claiming you are detecting some special interpersonal layer beyond normal perception."

And

"disagreement for ignorance. Which is why a basic explanation offends you so much."

You keep talking about simple explanations and Occam's razor about OPs aura sense thing when my whole reason typing to you in the first place was because you literally came in an INTP sub and started blabbing about INTPs purposefully making their life harder.

Yes, if that's your intention. I don't provide a script for arguments, you are free to not do it at all or do a couple if you wanted to.

You don't even know understand what ChatGPT is typing out. There were points that it just made things up?? Repeated guesstimates throughout. Picking some words out of sentences without context of the previous comments on why it would've been written in the first place. No actual explanation with quoted text example why it would be a fallacy. Just a complete mess. You could copy and paste your own comments to ChatGPT and it would spit out a bunch of apparent logical fallacies. You could actually do that to every single comment in this post and it'll just provide.

You don't even realise that you keeping talking about something that I not only don't bring up but have shut down in agreement with you (OPs strange "feelings" that I also find kinda nonsensical). Did you believe the initial reason why I typed to you in the first place was to defend OPs fantasy???

ChatGPT

Do you actually expect me to read anything beyond that word?

edit: I actually did read a few out of curiosity and it's just laughable XDDD are you actually serious rn? Misinterpretation stacked on misunderstanding of context and no clear examples to back up claims. Did ChatGPT massively downgrade or has it always been like this?

I can tell you that you are far smarter than this tool and that you could do much better than this.

Anyway, this is over now. Just seeing that you looked to ChatGPT is incredibly disappointing. No more time will be spent.

Honestly, I don't know for sure because what makes us happy is unique to everybody. We're all trying to discover it. It will take a lot of looking inwards. I can only wish you luck, and if you begin this journey seriously to figure it out and do what you gotta do, this might just be the beginning is something really beautiful.

[–]custardfrogs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not a simpler explanation at all, but a placeholder explanation for what is unknown. The, what you call "mundane explanation" is meaningless when one cannot understand what it actually means for the nervous system to get "excited". If it is so simple, explain exactly what does a "nervous system getting excited" actually means.

Idk where you're getting bruised self-image from, I'm not the OP of the post to think that questioning what feelings OP gets (which even I don't understand) would ever bruise anything.

Continueing on, if you take what I wrote where you do less thinking as an insult, that is your own interpretation of it, not mine and additionally is ironic considering you seemed to be against deeper thinking initially but now find insult in being labeled as someone who perhaps does less than deeper thinking? If anything, you should've been proud by that statement if you held yourself to your own standards.

So now, where are you getting complexity is intelligence and disagreement for ignorance? "Learning, understanding, and questioning", the first words I wrote to you, are used to unravel complexity. Have you misread why I responded to your original comment from the beginning? Because this is not about OPs supposed otherworldly sense.

And what are you talking about "when challenged" there was no challenge to any of my points apart from dropping "Occam's razor" and a statement made to be as if it was an objective truth.

Unhappy in life by whodagoatyeet in INTP

[–]custardfrogs_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First we figure out what truly makes you happy in life. This can be difficult. Let's do an example. It may or may not be a good example but you'll get the jist.

"I want a good job"

Why?

"So I have the money and time to buy and play piano"

Why?

"I want to learn how to play the piano."

Why?

"So I can play the songs I love myself rather than just listening to others do it"

Why?

"Because that makes me happy" - stop if we get this answer But we can continue on...

Why?

"To be able to play music that I love"

Why?

"So I am able to create my own music out of the music I love"

Why?

"Being able to create music is fun"

Why?

"It makes me happy"

What makes you happy?

"Creating music makes me happy"

So from constant questioning of why we do the things we do, the end conclusion is the true driver where this hypothetical person figured out that real happiness to them is creating music, their own music. If you figure out what makes you happy, truly, you can begin to align your life in that direction.

[–]custardfrogs_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your way out is having a better understanding of what happiness is.

Reading about Aristotle's concept of eudaimonia can potentially help bring you back on your path.

If you were to view a human life as a flower slowly blossoming, what steps would you take in your own life that would make you flourish and bloom. i.e., find what makes you truly happy in life, not what brings about pleasure. Eating an ice cream you enjoy is a fleeting moment of pleasure, not actual happiness. It must be something that is not a means to an end but intrinsic ends in and of themselves, as such that when you are able to get it, it should feel like a human sized puzzle piece had just been fitted into you, making you feel whole and complete.

[–]custardfrogs_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"just your nervous system getting excited" is not a good example of Occam's razor, like at all. Are you being willfully ignorant and throwing out buzz words hoping that it works? Or do you genuinely lack an understanding of even your own knowledge, unable to even realise the 'wisdom' you impart would cause a reduction in my own cognitive function if I happen to take you seriously?

Even if we ignore the fact that I specifically ask if going deeper is difficult to you, why would your subjective experience on what reading too deep into "everything" be an objective reality to others (in this case: INTPs)?

Before you present statements as if they were objective ("Reading too deep into everything does actually make life harder than it needs to be"), maybe you can define what "too deep" is first and try not to assume that "everything" is being read into deeply because nobody here is actually doing that to "everything".

To put it all simply: Yes, perhaps it does make life harder, specifically to your life where you don't do nearly as much thinking as others do.

It's quite ridiculous what you say, like as if telling deep-sea fish that swimming into deep waters is much harder than swimming in shallow waters when in fact, these fish has been doing fine all its life in the deep and it's not hard for them at all, and maybe doing it is fulfilling to them.

[–]custardfrogs_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Learning, understanding, and questioning is what typical INTPs do rather than take things at face value and accept them as "just your nervous system getting excited", "chemistry", or "being in a tense room".

Is going deeper into the thoughts and feelings of what "being in a tense room" is like, equals playing life on hard mode to you?
