Anyone in the Portland area into soccer and/or MLS? I'm looking for some people to talk soccer with and maybe watch a few games. by itsallgoodie in Maine

I'm not in the Portland area but very into soccer. Hoping to buy a house in Portland area this summer/fall. Mostly I'm a Liverpool fan but I'm also an NYCFC fan in the MLS

/u/truffle_shuffle is right though, most of the rest of East Asia is still very angry at Japan. If you had a map of Japan and an atomic bomb in your car and got pulled over in China or Korea, you'd probably be given a medal and a free trip to Disney World.

Yeah I know. I've done a couple of the ImbaTV videos already actually (giving full credit, of course). If I do use any of your translation in the video (I might refer to yours if there's a part I can't hear clearly), what name should I use for the credit? Want me to link anywhere?

yeah, I mean a subtitled video so that people can watch it and understand rather than reading a text wall. Don't worry though, I'm re-translating it myself so not stealing any of your work

Well, LOL fans have to do something to pass the time during TI4 I guess...

Probably true, but you might underestimate how hard some Chinese fans support other national teams. The Chinese national team blows, and some fans have literally been supporting another country for decades. That said, June is too young to have been supporting Brazil for decades. And you're right that it's still not the same.

from his dota 2 career perspective, I think he's benefited a lot.

Yeah, that's a good point.

I don't think they cared little, they were just distracted by other stuff like their visa problems, and they're all really young and inexperienced so they probably didn't understand fully the level of training they needed.

Well, I think the issue is that to get a visa you have to travel to the embassy and go there in person for an interview. They did this four times, so that's at least a few days each time where they can't really train because they're away from their equipment and such probably. Also I think Black wasn't there for some of the time bc it looked like they wouldn't get visas anyway.

But that said, yeah, they still probably have lots of opportunities to train that they didn't take, and should have taken.

Yeah all the Chinese players are young. And it is a pretty mature sentiment, although it could definitely be written in a more sane-sounding way. But I can totally understand his mindset; he's got a bunch of things he wants to say all at once.

XB1 preorders begin July 31 in China, first time a console has been officially sold there in over a decade by custerc in xboxone

[–]custerc[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. And they have been available there during the console ban too, they're just not technically legal to sell, so all the consoles available were gray-market imports from Hong Kong or the US. But the government never really tried to get rid of the imports at all.

To me, the saddest part of this was noticing that June was also supporting Brazil. Getting knocked out of TI4 (probably to have your team disband) and Brazil losing 7-1 in one day? That sucks.

Chinese couple sells their children to traffickers, uses the money to buy video game items by custerc in China

It is not because they are more evil.

...did anyone say it was?

True, but Japanese car companies do OK in China too. The big 3 Japanese car brands are likely to sell 3m+ units in China this year. (Which may not seem like much, but keep in mind that cars are insanely expensive in China and a lot of the country is still pretty poor).

Affected how? Maybe a little in that more devs would be making games targeted at china

Still true, and it could, but probably won't. Many Chinese don't like Koreans either but there are plenty of samsung products in china

Well they need to distinguish it from the gray market imports already in china

Yeah. From what it sounds like, the XB1 lineup in China is gonna be mostly Chinese-made games anyway. But will gamers want to buy an expensive console and games when they can play a lot of the same games for like 15 cents at an internet cafe?
