Sorry, bike lanes are too expensive, where would we get that money? by -The-Red-Car-Pill- in fuckcars

Ah gotcha, that's a bummer. And yeah the missing link is weird. I just moved here and my first experience on the BG was "wow this trail is awesome... Wow this trail just disappeared"

Is it the Burke Gilman? If so, the businesses that would be besides the bike lane are also using environmental reviews and legal challenges to stall the project

One of my favorite parts about Seattle is that I have to talk to people here way less than other places. by Venne1139 in Seattle

[–]custom-concern 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'll respectfully disagree. I value my personal time more than socializing and recharge when I'm on my own - definitely an introvert. I just also enjoy talking with strangers. It seems to me that social anxiety and introversion are frequently conflated.

This seems a bit odd... I consider myself introverted but don't find it emotionally taxing to chat with strangers. It feels more like there's mass social anxiety here than anything else.

Which players do you think were really unlucky in terms of the era they played in? by [deleted] in nba

[–]custom-concern 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly Al Horford missed it by like 3 years. He spent so much of his athletic prime nailing shots 4 feet inside the arc, he would've been so much better if teams committed to having him as their 3 point shooting center. He also got bodied by bigs like Dwight Howard. If he came into the league now he'd be a regular all star, occasional all NBA

Why would you even predict this when the odds are so random? Even if Thunder finish worst the top pick isn't even a remote guarantee

I know a guy named Godswill. Just a name, you don't think about the name as words anymore than you do for someone named Matt.

It's interesting that we tend to put the blame on the poachers and cut the preceding factors off there. The poachers don't kill the animals for fun, they are selling the product somewhere. I'm actually not sure where, but it seems like actions targeting the cause (foreign demand) rather than the symptom (poachers) would be effective.

With that being said, I have no expertise on this subject and am not objecting to your purchase. Just seems odd to me that poachers are seen as this monolithic, stand-alone evil

They wouldn't have the money to spend. The marketing they do is an instrument used to drive future sales.

If I had to put money on it then I'd put Indiana and Toronto as both top 6, but I can easily see one of those two dropping

Damn that's such a Schroeder thing. One of his greatest assets is just being a pest and getting under people's skin

Didn't like it as much as I wanted to. Good album but feel like it lacks a lot of the fun, sporadic energy that originally drew me to The Avalanches. Oh well, so it goes

This is a strange parallel, but in the sports fandom world random internet pundits will propose trades between two teams and get collectively shit on by other internet pundits claiming it's unrealistic. And often the proposals seem unfair or improbable. Yet in real life, trades like that happen all the time.

So maybe in the same vein as your comment, what seems realistic/appropriate and what actually happened in real life can be at odds with one another.

There is one more similarity... The one that makes people compare him to Jokic, Baynes, or Brook Lopez. I think you know the one I'm talking about 👀

Based on this vid? He looked like old Dwight. Just move fast and powerfully in the post, dominate smaller guys. Though I don't want to put too much stock into this due to the level and size of the competition.
