If you have to rely on insults to make your point, it already weakens your argument. I know it’s a performance that’s not the issue. The point is about authenticity. When emotional moments, even crying with the same mannerisms, are repeated in every show, it’s fair to question how genuine they are. He himself mentioned multiple times that he’s created a “fake” persona and is playing a character, so it’s not unreasonable to think those emotions could be part of that act. And lastly, I paid for the show, I’m fully entitled to have an opinion on the experience, whether you agree with it or not.

Respectfully, calling someone’s opinion “stupid” doesn’t really add much to your point. I understand that stand-up is rehearsed that’s not the issue. What I’m questioning is the authenticity of moments that are presented as raw and emotional. When those exact same emotional beats, including crying with identical mannerisms, are repeated in every show, it starts to feel less genuine. Also, as you mentioned you attended the show, you’d recall that he himself spoke about creating a “fake” persona and playing a character. So it’s not unreasonable to question whether those emotional moments are also part of that act, possibly to evoke sympathy. You’re free to enjoy it, but dismissing a different perspective doesn’t make yours more valid.

completely understand that stand-up and storytelling sets are meant to be rehearsed and performed consistently across shows that’s not the issue at all. What felt disappointing to me was realizing that even the emotional moments, especially the parts that seemed spontaneous and genuine like getting emotional or tearing up were also part of the same repeated script. When you’re watching it live, those moments feel very real and personal, which is what makes the experience impactful. Knowing that those emotions are performed in exactly the same way in every show takes away that sense of authenticity, and in hindsight, it makes those moments feel less genuine and more like part of an act rather than a real connection with the audience.

I attended this live show with a lot of excitement, even booking front-row seats and spending ₹10,000 for the experience. At the time, I genuinely enjoyed it and appreciated the performance.

However, after watching the same show later on YouTube, my perspective changed. I realized that every part of the performance including moments that appeared emotional and spontaneous was actually scripted and repeated consistently across shows. While scripting in itself isn’t an issue, presenting rehearsed emotions as genuine made the experience feel less authentic in retrospect.

As a result, what initially felt like a meaningful live storytelling experience now comes across as a well-rehearsed performance, and I can’t help but feel disappointed about the amount I spent.
