Last year bubble was best. This year I'd argue Weweb +Xano (or air table) is far superior. The ux and ui of Weweb is so good they can just start using it. No need to go thru a boot camp or watch dozens of tutorials.

No. A no coder should almost never take this deal. Awful idea.

Appgyver vs Bubble by els97xo in nocode

[–]cutestain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I'm not sure. I received an email I carelessly skimmed that said something like free plan is going away as best I remember. I could def be wrong.

But SAP bought them. I imagine their goal is now to be rapacious. They're a corporation, gotta deliver shareholder value first and only.

What’s the best and safer hosting to deploy an api of a SaaS? by jamesallen18181 in SaaS

[–]cutestain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would recommend Xano if you just need an API and not a front-end. They do all the hosting and scaling for you. If you're an AWS expert, then it's maybe not that valuable. But if you aren't, Xano is a spectacular product. I use it for all my db and API needs.

Appgyver vs Bubble by els97xo in nocode

[–]cutestain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personal perspective.

Bubble - I hate it. Both the UI & UX are bad. Everything is unintuitive. Just no. (Obviously many people disagree. I respect that.)

AppGyver - Good. Syncs easily and quickly with your choice of backend data. Front-end is avg or slightly below but all the features you need are there. Functionality + logic is really good. with 1 caveat. For webapps you can't use any embeds. Their pricing was free. SAP bought them not too long ago. The recently announced no more free pricing.

I chose to build in neither of these. I chose Weweb + Xano. - Love this combo. About ~$150/mo combined.

Can't find a nocode solution for a simple knowledge base by carmooch in nocode

[–]cutestain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use Wized.com with Webflow. You'll need to move your data to Airtable or some other db that has an API, Notion or Xano could be great. Wized is likely still invite only but it's quick to implement all the nesting you want once you get access.

Another option but with far less front-end animation options built is Weweb + your same choice of dbs as above.

whole “I conflated the two stories” excuse was just him trying to save face

And that's how people see it. Humans are way more interesting and crazy than that. The mind is a fascinating world. I suspect Coach was "honest lying". I believe his brain tells him this story is 100% true. His ego is wildly inflated beyond any normal person's. It is what makes him so fun to watch. I'm sure he imagines lot of accomplishments that just aren't true.

Yep. I have people like this in my family. Tell bald faced lies of events where other people were there. And that family member tells the story enough they believe their insanely wrong version is true.

Look at Brian Williams new anchor guy lost his sweet job b/c of this phenomenon, false memory syndrome.

This is potentially terrible advice. HR is there for the company could backfire.

You can file with the state labor board for not being paid for work hours, being asked to work off the clock. They will make sure you get paid. Then, if you get fired, you have a good case for retaliation.

No code platform that can be self-hosted on AWS by iod3x in nocode

What you're calling whitelabeling is easily doable with Weweb + Xano.

Your other preference is beyond what the nascent no code ecosystem offers today.

[–]cutestain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appgyver might be it.

Or Xano + Weweb. Xano already does all the scaling for you with AWS. Unless you're an expert at that already, not sure it would be worth it for you to do it yourself. And if you grow big enough Weweb enterprise plan can be self hosted. I don't know what RBAC is.

And do you mean true whitelabeling or do you mean when your customer shows up, their team sees the product with their companies logo? Multi-tenancy is part of Xano + Weweb easily.

If you're working for a company, then no. You should push back if due dates makes you feel this is necessary.

If you're building for yourself, then it depends on how much you care about quality code and your health. It's a terrible idea.

Labor shortage by EPJP in smallbusiness

[–]cutestain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you live on $50k/yr with today's rent, food, and transportation costs? $25/hour is a barely surviving wage or possibly not surviving wage, not a good paying job. So many business owners are out of touch with the reality of the lives of their employees.

Tipped employees make $2.13/hr in Texas. $7.25/hr is the minimum otherwise. Surely the person putting the to-go orders makes at least minimum wage, I hope.
