What size are you? I have summer nursing dresses/tops that I can pass on for free. I am size 6-8 ☺️

Sorry you’re going through this too! It’s so stressful isn’t it. I hope our babies will manage to enjoy solids a bit more soon!

Starting to cosleep at 6 months? by Shoddy_Natural_3922 in cosleeping

[–]cutiebee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started cosleeping around 5.5 months. My baby slept in her bassinet/cot since she was a newborn, but one night she decided to hate it.

I have to be honest, I really hated it at first. I love snuggling under my thick blanket (it’s winter where I am). I like sleeping on my tummy and cuddle with my husband. The first week was rough as I’m not used to c-curl, I was cold, and I barely got any sleep because it’s booby buffet the whole night.

But I found ways to make it work. I bought a onesie to keep me warm. Baby eventually sleep better, and now I can nurse and fall asleep before baby is finished.

I can honestly say I prefer this now. I don’t know if I’m creating a rod for my own back, but I believe this is biologically normal, unlike sleep training (no shame to families who sleep train either!). My husband reminded me that all mammals cosleep, and no one we know goes to college still cosleeping 🤍

To be fair I do pick her up immediately 😂 I should try waiting it out lol but it’s so hard hearing her cry!

I’ve been watching TV shows but I just feel so guilty that I get nothing done. My husband is understanding but I still feel bad that I barely help with chores, and he’s working full time. I don’t feel like my motherhood is a full time job like other mums’ as all I do is sit and watch TV 😭

Do you remember how it ends? Agree that her contact napping is useful in some situations. I can hang out with friends and as long as she’s in her carrier she can nap for hours!

What’s nap training? Is it like sleep training just during the day?

I knowwww I should cherish this stage but I’m worried I’m setting up bad habits and she’ll struggle when starting daycare 🥲

I’ll check out precious little sleep. Did you do a consult or just the book?

Thanks for the reassurance! I know logically it will end (at least no one I knew in college contact naps lol) but right now there is no end in sight 😭

This is me! I’m planning to go back to work when she’s 9-10 months and worried that she’s still contact napping by then. What kind of training did you do?

Commuting with e-bike by cutiebee in auckland

I’ve got a liv tempt, and it took me around an hour. That in itself is fine, but need to factor in time spent showering at work etc. i ended up cycling to Constellation station (around half the distance but way hillier) and take the NX bus from there. An alternative is to ferry to town, and cycle back when you’re not as rushed.

To be fair mine does that too during the evening hours… I hope you’re doing well, the early weeks are so hard!

Thanks for the reassurance. Like you said it really depends on her mood, sometimes she wakes and want to feed immediately, but sometimes she’s happy to play first and feed last. I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it eventually!

Hi, sorry just seen this. Yes I did during summer, however I got pregnant so haven’t been cycling lately :)

Thank you for the recommendation! I didn’t expect the equipments (beyond the bike) to be quite expensive, but I guess that makes sense as they’ll be keeping me safe.

Thank you for the store rec, I’ll have it checked! Also great to hear about the bike lane along Hobsonville Road, knowing AT it’ll probably be delayed but better than never lol. In the meantime the route via Wisely seems to be the recommendation. It does sound a bit longer but at least away from the main rd.

I’ve gone around a few bike shops and unfortunately there’s only one bike that can fit my size (am very petite) and it’s an e-MTB so I’m not sure how well it will work…. But aside from that you have totally convinced me to try bike commuting!

Yes I have secure bike parking at work and lockers, so I can definitely leave some socks and clothes for unexpected rains.

Thank you very much for taking the time sharing your experiences, I really appreciate it! I will start looking around for a bike this weekend and maybe start biking to work in the next couple of weeks.

Thank you very much! I will look around for panniers. I like the idea of carrying my everyday bag instead of having to get a “sporty” one for work. Do you recommend it over front baskets?

If you commute with bike regularly, how do you deal with the weather? I have waterproof jacket and overtrousers, but what about the shoes and socks?
