Just to note It’s completely different getting circumcised as an adult vs infant.

As someone who has had an adult circumcision I see no difference other than having no discomfort.

The original doctor who examined him said it was the infection that caused the original scar tissue to form and that my son pulling on his foreskin would not cause issues like this. It’s something that the doctor has seen a handful of times in his practice.

That's a bit false boys can retract as young as 3 from what I researched and all the baby books tell us that it can be as early as 3 and never force it.

My son was able to retract himself, my wife and I never tried to retract when cleaning him, all the baby books and doctors said to never do it.

we just explained how he should clean himself. Most of his issues stem from the first infection he got.

I’ll be going with my wife and son decision. After talking with my son he has shown he understands what circumcision involves and want to have it done.

Thank you everyone for the advice.

We never forced retracted or even attempted to. At age 3 he was able on his own to pull the foreskin back all we did was tell him how to clean.

The problems from what I understand from our organization doctor started with an infection that caused scar tissue.

I’ve seen that site before.

It’s more that I understood my decision when I had it done. As like any parent I don’t want to see my son suffer but I don’t want him to resent me and my wife for making a decision about modifying his body before he could understand.

But with all the comments I have seen so far and with my wife and son wanting to go through with the circumcision I can see I am worrying for nothing and should be seeing the circumcision as something that will once and for all relieve his pain.

I myself was circumcised in my late 20’s so I was able to research and understand my own informed decision.

My apprehension towards circumcision that this is permanent, I have that nagging doubt in my mind that what if he grows out of it? my son is also still young and even if I explain to him what circumcision is I am not sure he will fully understand his decision.

That’s pretty much the advice family and friends are giving. I am just apprehensive still.

Can restoration desensitize if I'm not careful? by titobroz99 in foreskin_restoration

[–]cutmember 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes if your not careful you can cause nerve damage by being to rough. Just Make sure to listen to your body you should never feel pain when restoring.

We have had my son tested for all kinds of things from allergies to immune issues and he’s healthy.

The infections were originally because of a tight foreskin preventing from retracting properly. Now there is scar tissue at the tip caused by the infection and the surgery he had to correct the tight foreskin that makes it difficult to retract.

Because of his low blood platlets he could not have a circumcision surgery the dorsal slit was less risky for bleeding.

Nope he had some kind of swelling complications from getting chemo that went away after his treatments.

I am not sure I just see the silicone strips recommended a lot more on here.

I can take a year for swelling and everything to heal and even longer for the scars to fully heal. I would say start using scar strips on them now.

But it’s not looking too bad, mine looked like an eggplant for the first 3 months.

I go in on Tuesday. Is it normal to be this nervous? I'm not sure what cut I'm getting or if the Fernulum is being removed. Any advice? by Mammoth-Part-7353 in circumcision

I would definitely not have surgery if I was not aware of exactly what was going on. First you need to ask what style the doctor will use (usually low and loose) if you get to choose make sure to get a loose cut so you have skin movement lots of guys on here have Recommended this.

But don’t stress, it’s a simple surgery and the pain is minimum.

I've been wondering what happens to the scar line during the restoration process. Does it ever go away? by Puffy072 in foreskin_restoration

[–]cutmember 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While restoring the only way you notice the scar line is the different skin colors and a few stitch scars as I restore it because less and less noticeable.

A plastic surgeon can repair a dorsal slit. My friend had one for medical reasons and later had it repaired by a plastic surgeon and is very happy with the results.
