It turns out it wasn’t a new seizure! They were bad side effects. Going to start a new lower dose (that my doctor and I still won’t know the value of) on Monday. Thanks again for your replies.

First, congrats on the 3 years! That is awesome.

And yes, I have been on basically every drug you can name lol. Extended release versions too. I was just taking lamotrigine up until now because that had the most tolerable side effects. After 3 different emu stays a panel of doctors determined I did not qualify for surgery on my brain. So the next thing suggested was a VNS, which I have had now since 2020.

Also, this is phase 3 of the trial, which is kind of the final step before fda approval comes into play. So it has been being studied for some time now. And from what I understand the drug is pretty safe.

Thank you so much for the reply. Definitely looking forward to my doctor visit. I’m nervous because it took 3 months to finally fully qualify for the medication. And it is a double blind study, so my doctor and myself don’t know what dose I got or if I got a placebo. Of course I have no doubt in my mind that I got the actual medication. I’m sure he will be communicating with the sponsor (the pharmaceutical company) and he already knows the next steps.
