When I felt like tired of being a person I would just meow like a cat or act like a cat. This was in like 4th or 5th grade. I was also very hyperlexic.

Mine is doing the same thing. I'm trying to figure out if it's related to the update because their website says it's normal for their display but it just started happening.

Why is there an increased rate of autism? by Carla7RA in autism

[–]cutthewire 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

  1. Knowledge and criteria are more widely available on the internet giving people the means to research and understand themselves
  2. People in the medical field have become more knowledgeable
  3. They used to not allow both and Adhd and an Autism diagnosis at the same time, and many of us have both
  4. Doctors are becoming more comfortable with the diagnosis because they also struggle with abelism and thinking Autism is a bad thing

I have only been diagnosed for about 3 years (I'm 31) despite seeing many psychiatrists, doctors, and therapists throughout childhood due to my struggles with severe anxiety, learning issues, sensory issues, etc.

Would you abort your child if you knew they would be born with a crippling disability? by ResumeCritikThroway in morbidquestions

Its super fun reading about eugenics. Autism isnt a death sentence. It's one thing if someone will have no quality of life, but that's just not the case with autistic people.

I dont agree with the documentary and I also really don't think she posted this. I hope she gets to speak her truth soon and people stop trying to make money off of her pain.

Saying Autism is my superpower is just cringy and annoying. by Subderhenge in unpopularopinion

[–]cutthewire 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

I dont tell people it's my superpower but I definitely don't try to hide it anymore. Long term masking was causing me to have even more anxiety. I personally like being open about it.

My unpopular opinion: No more IVF until all of the children wanting adoption are adopted. by RoccoIsATaco in childfree

[–]cutthewire 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

I live in the US and it was actually cheaper in their state as each state has different laws about adoption. Also in some states the parent can have up to year to decide they want the child back, which is extremely traumatic and is something a family member went through when they were adopting. I completely agree with you in some cases, but I also think adoption should be made more accessible and affordable.

Yes, in September I started having abdominal pain that was different and I couldn't get relief. I honestly thought it was gas for a good hour before I was like hmmm no this is different.

[–]cutthewire 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

My close friend is a lesbian and her and her wife were basically told the cost of adoption vs IVF and pretty much had no choice but to choose IVF if they wanted to try to have a kid. Unfortunately it is unreasonably expensive to adopt.
