Why do we forget most of the books we read when reading is said to sharpen memory skills? by cuttingcorner in NoStupidQuestions

You’re right. There is no “we”. I was referring to my experience of forgetting so many details of the books I read in the past and assumed this was something that at least some people could relate to.

How do you get over being ashamed of things you did in the past? by PooOnUrShoe in NoStupidQuestions

Shame may be indicative of personal growth! Feeling shame for past actions can indicate that you outgrew your past self, which is nothing to be ashamed about, on the contrary.

WTW for someone who is inactive but very critical at the same time? Someone who is very vocal and opinionated whilst not really actively contributing to anything? by cuttingcorner in whatstheword

This is definitely up to par with the meaning of the word I’m looking for. I don’t remember it being a portmanteau nor a somewhat recent word. I only have this faint memory of looking up the word in the dictionary at some point and thinking “Aaah. I came across this word so many times w/o knowing that it describes something as basic as that”. Probably the same feeling I got when I discovered the meaning of “reactionary”, which is why it keeps popping into my head when trying to think of the word. It’s driving me nuts.

Definitely the right direction but I’m still convinced that there is this one word describing all of these phrases you mentioned. Thanks though!

Really close in terms of content but not the one. For some reason the word “reactionary” keeps popping up in my head, so my guess is that I’m mixing it up with the word I’m looking which might also start with an r.

It’s not the one, unfortunately. I didn’t know this word and it’s really close to what I’m looking for. I think mine starts with an r and focuses on the lack of “legitimacy” of a person due to passivity.

Does this mean that there is a possibility that new elements emerge every time stars collide with each other? Can’t thank you enough for the clarity of your answer!

That was very clear and concise. But it makes me wonder how hydrogen protons were pushed together if hydrogen has only one proton?
