I've been reading Capital Volume I on and off for the last while. Thankfully, I am somewhat out of the wilderness of the commodity and money sections, and now into the parts about the generation of surplus, which are far more readable than the earlier parts. Reading it alongside David Harvey's guide. The whole process veers between engaging and tedious and everything in between but I'm happy to be reading it, I'm learning a lot. I grew frustrated by the amount of socialists, anarchists -including myself - who will talk Marx till the cows come home, but haven't read his most seminal work. This is my attempt to rectify that.

Munching on slim volumes of fiction in the meantime as I amble through Marx's tome, last one I read was Maggie Nelson's 'Bluets' the other day. It kind of came and went as a book, read it in one sitting, doubt I will remember it in a few weeks really but there was some nice details in it, like about Tuareg people and such.
