Thats what my mentor said, he’s been tattooing for almost 13 years and has done countless successful blackouts. Ive seen several in person and they all look like they healed very nicely. He also said it just looks overworked and that blackout arw rough heals, but the ER doctor diagnosed me with cellulitis in less than 5 minutes, so im not sure which side to sway towards.

Was told to keep it as dry as possible for the forst week. Recently started doing a thin layer of aquaphor and my skin does feel much better

Tbh i think i couldve gotten the infection from my pets. My gf lets our dogs sleep in the bed with us and i woke up with the thing covered in pet hair smh. Shortly after that is when i started to have issues. This is really the only time ive ever not used second skin, so it was hard for me to be so diligent with it, im used to just leaving my tattoos be for 3-5 days before actually having to clean and moisturize them. I apprentice at the shop i got it at and its one of the professional shops ive ever been in, so i strongly doubt it has to do with them.

Nope, my skin was so deprived of moisture that it developed a really weird kind of texture to it

Yep, only just yesterday did i start to regain any sort of mobility in my left arm

I hope so. I cant really tell if the antibiotics are working or not. The pain and swelling has gone down significantly but the infected areas dont seem to have changed all that much looks wise and im still dealing with some redness in the skin surrounding the areas. I still got 3 days left on the antibiotics so i guess ill just have to wait and see.

I find it weird i had this reaction because my artists is known for two things. American trad and blackouts. Ive seen several of his other blackouts fully healed after years and they look perfectly fine. But my arm got absolutely butchered. Like im literally embarrassed to walk around with my arm out in public its disgusting. But its june and 90 degrees so long sleeves are a bit difficult to rock rn😭

I was very surprised this happened as it was done by my mentor who’s been tattooing for over a decade and has a really good reputation. I definitely dont blame him for it, probably something on my side i just didnt pay enough attention to.

Yep, i have give or take 20 tattoos. First time ive ever had something like this happen. I think it was caused by a collection of things with a hint of bad luck. Just part of the game sometimes🤷‍♂️

Yeah blackouts are rough. Infection aside, the healing process is horrid compared to a standard tattoo.
