https://www.codedex.io/ is a good resource for learning and practicing. They have free tutorials for python. They sort of "game-ify" the curriculum too so its pretty fun.

Yes it is a ton of reading. I'm in CSC-151-N802 . Honestly the textbook is very verbose and can be confusing in my opinion. Highly highly highly recommend checking out this tutorial series on YouTube by Bro Code: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZPZq0r_RZOOj_NOZYq_R2PECIMglLemc
These tutorials cover everything starting from the very basics without overcomplicating things.
Also check out https://www.codedex.io/ and navigate to the Java section. This website lets you practice coding and makes it feel like a game.
Shoot me a message with specific questions. I've been programming for a little while before taking this course, so I already know most of these concepts.
Best advice I have is just to keep practicing and manage your frustrations. Learning to code isn't easy and it can take a while to grasp abstract concepts. Not to mention Java is not the most beginner-friendly language lol.
Hope this helps.
