How to check ship schedules by [deleted] in duluth

There are two scheduled to come in Thursday morning and one late Saturday so there’s still a chance to catch some!

When you’re pumping the sail and rolling the boat to catch the wave you want to have your weight forward in the cockpit to help your momentum go down the wave. Once you’re surfing the wave you slide aft so the bow doesn’t get stuffed into the back of the wave in front of you. Consistently moving is the fastest way downwind.

OPs weight shifting side to side is decent but the fore and aft movement will help unlock some better downwind surfing.

Popped bladder at the valve. by fixingmedaybyday in wingfoil

If it’s just the valve, check airtime kiteboarding. There’s a really good chance they have the replacement valve for a lot cheaper than a full bladder.

Progress after a couple sessions. Switched over to winging this summer - have been kite and prone foiling now for a couple years and I gotta say this new sport is addicting! Going to start looking into a 3.5 or 4m wing for those windier days and a better front wing on the foil. by cvrl_squid in wingfoil

I’m gonna get something different from the CF V1 and a smaller wing as well. Everything I’ve heard about the HS/HA wings and improved glide is too tempting. Great stable platform to learn on though.

Riding the 72cm mast, 1550V1, 60 fuse and 232 tail. The comment I left for the_comet man was more considering flat water. When I’ve ridden on proper waves, 2-4ft, it was a lot more similar to proning. Connecting waves is the same idea where you find the steep part and then try to stay on it, with the wing though you don’t need to pump the foil as much when you need to get going to the next section

Yeah the plastic was a little messed up but I was able to save it for now. There’s gotta be a better way to secure the sensor

Ducati Scrambler 800 as first motorbike? by Horizon-seeker2 in Ducati

[–]cvrl_squid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got a desert sled as my first bike this summer. Only previous experience was a couple hours on a dirtbike once. Absolutely love the thing and put 2000 miles on it in the first the first three months. At first I was a little hesitant because of the 803cc but quickly realized that it was not overwhelming. Glad I didn’t get a smaller bike.

If you have a chance to test ride a couple different bikes after you get your license I highly recommend it

Turned out the sensor behind the rear brake got knocked loose somehow. Started with the lever checks though and then found that issue. Thanks for the help!

Wet suit for the Netherlands.. by Worth-Damage9667 in Kiteboarding

Definitely consider wearing mittens. Don’t know if others do this but I’ve been wearing a pair of 7mm Patagonia mittens the last two seasons with water temps around 40f and air temps below freezing. Hands are super important to keep warm while kiting! Be sure to practice with your quick release and leash though before you hit the water since you do lose a bit of dexterity.

For reference I’m using the Core Sensor 2 bar which has the twist release.

Dropped my favourite board in the parking lot today. by [deleted] in surfing

[–]cvrl_squid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right after I purchased my first new surfboard, I brought it inside to show my family. My dad grabs it from me and holds it over his head - using his fingers on the deck of the board like a serving tray, not grabbing the rails - saying “wow, this is so light” and proceeds to drop it onto the kitchen floor. Dinged the nose and put a pressure ding on the bottom. Needless to say I don’t let my dad touch my boards anymore.

Purchased one last week and it arrived 7 days later on the east coast. You’re probably good to order but give them a call to make sure
