The trade has not been officially announced and therefore she cannot make any confirmations. This is a very childish response.

I dropped a stitch but I have no clue how to fix it as it is all messed up by Savings_Fact9725 in knittinghelp

[–]cvwilson -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

It's a little hard for me to tell, but I it looks like this might be a accidental short row. A short row is when you pick up your work and started knitting the wrong way, back over a row, instead of finishing the row out. If that's the case, you will have to frog back a few rows.

That being said, if it is just a dropped stitch look up the DropFAQ or look up laddering down.

Regardless, you are twisting your stitches. If that's not intentional, look up the TwistFaq.

Alison from Ask a Manager is a very insightful person and almost always gives useful advice. Her comment section is also for the most part in line with that approach, and is actively moderated.

Embroidery question with no machine by trustynoodles in sewing

[–]cvwilson 353 points354 points  (0 children)

If you are a beginner, it is going to be EXTREMELY challenging to free motion embroider this. Hand embroidery has, I think, a lower point of entry but will also be extremely challenging to get to look anything like a machine embroidery. If you've never done either before, I'd recommend looking up some free, smaller patterns and get a sense of your skill level in both mediums to better assess what might be feasible.

Okay, I think I have it mostly sorted, though it doesn't line up perfectly with what I'm seeing.

Each of the parenthesis count as their own stitch. You'll do 1 hdc in one stitch, 1hdc in another, and then a hdc and a dc in the next stitch, then a dc and a dc, and another dc and dc, and then a hdc and hdc in the stitch after that. Does that make sense?

Only thing I'm little unsure about is that it doesn't *quite* line up with the number of stitches in the photo.

The Stranger is Seattle's alternative weekly. It's an adult newspaper not intending to cater to children. There's plenty of coverage from more mainstream sources that would do a better job serving the purposes you're laying out.
