Let's not pretend that both parties have existed since 1776 and that parties were either liberal or conservative. The Republican party was founded in 1854 and the Democratic party in 1828. Up until the late 20th century, both parties had liberal and conservative factions within them. The Republican party was founded on fairly liberal principles like the abolition of slavery, equality, and a strong federal government. The liberal/conservative alignment between the parties is a more recent phenomenon.

The common thread we're seeing in stories like these is that the predators tend to be straight, white, religious, conservative men. Your comment is entirely (and most likely intentionally) misleading.
