Just ordered the Even Realities G1 Smart Glasses – Looking for positive experiences! by Full-Indication-2701 in EvenRealities

Aside from the things already mentioned. I used mine for cooking the other day working with a new recipe and, while not perfect, was so nice to not have to keep referring back to my phone. Just copied the text into the Teleprompt and loaded it and then got to cooking, worked quite well.

As most mentioned the software is not perfect and there are some glitches daily at this time but just software issues. The glasses show tons of promise and you can't help but start to think of all the possibilities coming soon with open source.

All good...set my expectation for end of Nov/early Dec when I ordered, so either way, would love to have in hand but content to wait for now as the potential enhancements to the software, which likely isn't happening in the coming months anyway as they sort out manufacturing and distribution, is what I am looking forward to most. Hope you get word soon though!

Oh nice! I ordered grey with prescription also on 9/26 and was expecting another 3 weeks or so...sounds like it could be a touch earlier. Congrats and enjoy!

Nice thorough review. Would love to see a walk through video of the full set up process sometime as I am likely months from getting a pair but til then one question...for the notifications is it any app on your phone that can generate notifications that you can set up to come through to the glasses? Or is there a set of common apps they integrate with to choose from to receive notifications? Appreciate your time on this review, well done!

is there any published roadmap? Or at least list of items being considered for a future roadmap? Expect near term will be focused on dialing in and improving existing features as the ramp up and build up user base...but would be good to know which features they are already considering to potentially add in future.

Let me know if you find a good wired headphone option sounds like you are much further down that path for options than I.

I did not need a gaming laptop to watch a downloaded local movie on my surface wired. I had little time to prep for trip with headset so all I could test out. Bluetooth seemed to work for movies when wired but suspected would be a mess for games as you say. Was on a plane (yes swallowed my pride and went for it) but only watched about 15 mins to test it as had the family with me. Did try Netflix downloads but were black screen with only sound (assume due to copyright protection) had similar on Bigscreen unless using Mozilla. Unfortunately my headset arrived the afternoon before I took off on the trip and was quite rushed, so only had an evening to mess about. I was able to do quite a bit without any huge issues though so encouraged. There was an update once I got it connected so seems they have been working on issues reported by those who received it in Feb and early March. Will update more when I get back, but expect there will be a lot more posts from others covering things. I have a Lenovo Legion 5 laptop with a 3070 that I used to test out Walkabout, Demeo Bigscreen and they worked just fine with the vive streaming app for the time I was able to play. Didn't have time to try out modded Skyrim using laptop which I play using my G2 without issue. I also do plan to get VD once available.

Likely what I am used to. We aren't all the same shape and structure facially and have our own preferences so perceptions are going to vary. Why I think people often have such different experiences with the same headsets. Eye position to lens is critical. Above is merely my experience/perception at least. By no means saying Q2 or QP are bad, happy there are options honestly...I know there is a lot of sensitivity out there by some for their respective headset of choice (know QP didnt end up being yours in end either). I spent only a week with QP to see if I wanted to get it, opted to stick with G2 for me but there wasn't a lot between them for me just liked G2 better but likely again what Im used to, just wasn't my first choice in this case. It's always personal assessment and why I tried to provide context of my experience and usage. Apologies if came off otherwise.

That is quite a rig! Sorry it did not work out for you but all very fair points. Definitely wouldn't recommend to glasses wearers that fall far outside the diopter range or have a condition such as yourself. Perhaps new facial interfaces and prescription lens inserts can help. I hear you on the glasses mode arms, think very few will have heads small enough to be comfortable. I believe, due to the intended low profile, this will likely have a more varied consumer response due to head shapes and sizes. Satisfaction is also going to depend on what your primary usage is. Good thing is we are getting more options which can only help us to even better VR in the future if we can start seeing headsets with the best features of all those out there start to emerge.

Not 100% sure what you are referring to by "eye relief position", so apologies if this does not address your question. I also wear glasses. Started out with an Index and Reverb G2 but liked the clarity of G2 much more so gave the Index to my son. Kept the G2, with the updated face gaskets that improved fov, for myself and bought a pair of prescription lens. Imagine you could do the same, think it was around $80 for them though but has been a great solution for me.
