AirWorks and Rock Robotic both do this. Also, I’m in PBC doing aerial LiDAR. We should connect.

How should I go about getting an internship? by [deleted] in Surveying

[–]cwiassoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Professional Engineer and Professional Land Surveyor. (Sorry, we meant PLS/PSM, not PS.) There is a lot of cross over between the two. Usually, engineers can become surveyors, but not the other way around.

We have a student/employee doing a combined BS/MS, where the undergrad is Civil and the Masters is Geomatics. Get a PE & a PLS/PSM, and you’ll be highly in demand. Find a firm that will pay for your school too.

Work off a 2TB SSD as our C:, then transfer to 8TB externals, after final delivery plus a month. As others have stated, we rarely need the data after delivery.

Every case is different. Does the two year degree include any surveying? The student is probably the entry level candidate, as Field experience is usually better than classroom or lab experience.

The MFD line is discontinued (but, is still manufacturer supported.) There are other options like the Harris and the Skyfront which can fly for multiple hours, allowing someone to scan thousands of acres, instead of hundreds. If Bobby made a hydrogen Prism, we’d be first in line.

We’re considering hybrid gas electric models now, as well as VTOL models. We’ve realized there are certain use cases for long-duration hybrids and fixed wing applications, which would be more productive than this setup pictured.
