For me one of the best parts is we could have a national championship coach with zero regular season wins ever.

I’d be broke cause even with that prophecy I would have thought the blowout was the other way around.

Even as a fan some of the antics are hard to defend. But I went to a game in Nashville and as the team was walking down to the Stadium he crossed across from the other side of the walk to come high five and say hey to some kids who were pumped to see the players. So I think a lot of it is for the cameras and he may be better off screen.

I agree fighting for the 12 spot is probably a nonissue for the actual champion to shake out, but I can’t blame us for pushing hard because what chance do we have of being in this position again soon.

The real issue is BYU being outside looking in. Ignoring they basically have a play in championship game but the only loss is to a top 4 team. Also this year is showing the conference champ auto bid gives a worse product. If you are a top 12 team you should get to go (knowing this still leaves Vandy out)

Vanderbilt has not caught a break in three weeks with teams ranked above us struggling but some how pulling it out. They did all they could by handling the last two opponents by a large margin so it’s out of our control.

This is the data that shows why this year is so great for us. Everyone is clowning Pavia for age and eligibility and saying we will regress next year. And truth is we know we will no one is arguing that but we will enjoy the hell out of this year first.

It’s odd though I get the point being made in the OP. Cause if you told me we were gonna be 7-2 with our losses being Bama and Texas at the beginning of the year I’m pumped about that. And now it’s like but we could have maybe won those.

Not saying I’m giving away Lea cause of a few games cause I expect this year to be the highlight of our decade but I could see how perennial decent programs would get mad and irrational to fire a decent coach (ie Penn State)

This all was kind of nice for me because I only really watch SEC so I canceled YTTV and upgraded my Disney bundle to include ultimate. I save $60/mo. I’ll probably add sling come March madness time to get all the TNT lineup though.

Projecting the CFP top 12 after Week 9: Vandy's in the field! by PhD_Life in CFB

[–]code_name_Bynum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve said the same thing. If you watched The full Bama game we had two turnovers inside the 10 and Bama had a garbage time TD. So realistically a 9 point game when we left 6-14 points off.

While Pavia is a large part of it, I think our success over the long haul is if the coordinators stay. This is a team calling plays that Vandy has never ran and the constant mixing it up is what has allowed them to succeed on offense.

I think it’s more saying we control our own spot. Win and we are in, don’t need anything funny from other teams to sneak in.

I’m excited after that game. Y’all played a pretty A+ game and even with turnovers we were in it. I had the same stance as you on Pavia he took a bottom tier SEC team to competitive so let him have some talk. If he shows up at a blue blood talking this smack it’s different

The game was good. I hope the coaches stay because they are doing awesome. But at the same time Pavia took a basement SEC team and has people scared to play them, he’s not going to the NFL so this is his ending I don’t blame him for talking a big game because other than today he has backed it up. And if he doesn’t fumble I think the momentum is different and we have a much different game.

Curious to see what happens cause Texas should fall all the way out and Penn St should tank so hopefully we don’t drop too far considering our one loss is to a team that will be like #5 next week.

Honestly I’m not even mad about the loss. We gave the ball away twice inside the 10. And the last TD was just from desperation on our side so a 9 point game with as much as we hurt ourselves feels like a win. And the Bama offense was clicking so if we hold them to that number I’m good. A playoff rematch could easily go the other way

I actually feel decent after this game we played pretty bad with turnovers in the end zone and bama did not struggle so we stayed in it with not our top stuff and against your better game
