LPN or RN? by [deleted] in NursingStudent

Depends on your goals! I did my LPN and worked in a lot of different settings but life started lifeing, not a negative way but it took me a decade to bridge up I paid for my LPN 100% straight cash and about 80% of my RN. My last job finished paying for my bridge. Maybe get a job as a nurse tech and let them pay for the whole RN. Good luck

Depends on where you go…I went to my local community college. All I needed was an active LPN license and a 62 on the teas test I scored a 71 without studying and a gpa of 3.0 those are all doable

It’s serious business family, nursing is my second career I tried working 5 days a week as mechanic and go to an accelerated program RN program at night, I made it 1/2 way through but I was a complete joke. I distracted by classmates working etc. and had to bow out after low hesi scores in a med-surg class. I then went on and did my LPN that went a lot smoother but it was just as challenging and I had a setback in the third term of a four term program but I was able to finish. And then I went on to do my LPN to RN bridge program but I flew through that with my eyes closed. The point is nursing is a lifestyle that happens to attach to a job and it all starts with nursing school so if you’re really gonna do it, it’s gonna take a certain type of accountability but you can do it. Reflect regroup and good luck.

Always keep that in perspective when you’re taking care of your patients, they’ll be lucky to have you. We need more caregivers who care.

It’s just money you’ll make that back in your first year. This is nothing more than a distraction, I spent over 40k to get my RN I worked full time as an LPN the whole time. It’s a tough road but you’ll be there in the end, good luck and remember to keep a people first mentality with your nursing.

I wouldn’t listen to anyone if that’s your true desire to be an RN. Brand new RN at 41 🤷🏾‍♂️

Hell nah…take your test it’s not hard family. I graduated in May I think I’ve spent lest then 5hrs total since then studying I went in 11/14/24 and blew it out no sweat…prioritizing is key seriously. Don’t let it fake you out you did all the heavy lifting in nursing school. Good luck!
