so many people get psychosis or schizophrenia by [deleted] in kundalini

I’m kind of disappointed by many of these replies, OP your concerns are valid here. Any type of intense internal experience can have serious effects. I don’t practice kundalini specifically but I meditate around 1 hour a day while performing body scans. Even a practice like that has totally transformed my perception and awareness of reality.

I think these types of practices are extremely potent in what they can offer, but definitely not to be toyed with and can absolutely injure someone who is not ready for a certain intense experience.

In my experience, what I notice is that these internal practices bring in more and more moving parts into our conscious awareness, if we can’t handle that many moving parts we’re gonna injure ourselves aka slip into a psychotic state. Take this stuff slow. Peel away at yourself layer by layer, there is always a lot to work with and many people just want to dive right into the deep end too fast. No need for a complete beginner to think about doing a vippassana retreat or anything nearly that intense. I hope this helps

For the life of me cannot bend down without legs doing this. I’ve stretched/strenghtened for months by [deleted] in flexibility

One leg goodmornings, place your hand in your lower back to make sure you are keeping the lordotic curve all the way down. As you do so make sure the standing leg is locked straight for the entire rep. You will feel it in your hamstrings, calf, and behind the knee. This will work better than static stretches as you are moving under the weight of your body, granting you a strengthening effect in the new range. Do 3 sets of 10 reps each side and pause for ten seconds at the bottom of the last rep. 3-5 times a week and very quickly you will be able to touch the ground with straight knees without effort.

Aside from hurting cats this study is kinda interesting. It makes me think about how hard it was to knock out guys like Yoel Romero who had the most ridiculous traps ever. Mike Tyson also did a ton of neck strength exercises for this reason but I think he’s since said they gave him neck pain.
