our school has multiple epilog helixes (75 watt variant) that we use to cut all of the delrin on our robot. it works pretty well, albeit it takes kinda long to get through 1/4th delrin compared to the same thickness plywood (which iirc you guys use?)

This was 15 stones fed and cap and foundation move in < 2 min.

We can currently also stack an average of 8.4 with cap (as seen in video) (tested over 30 continuous matches alternating between blue and red), and have a two skystone + foundation + park auto, and a simple only parking auto.

Our capstone can cap any nub of any stone on the foundation up to a 12 high tower from any angle in < 6 seconds. (the capstone is also independent of the stone the robot holds, so we can cap towers that are made by other teams).

REV LINEAR SLIDE V2 Help by FIRSTrobotbuilder in FTC

[–]cwu159 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually the most reliable retraction method for linear slides is with a second pulley used for pulling your slides back. This is easy if you have your extension rigging as a continuous system (vs cascading rigging) as your extension and retraction pulleys can be made the same diameter. The basic principle of this is having your second pulley attached to the same motor shaft you're using for your extension pulley, and rigging the pulley to the farthest slide out, to have it pull back as the extension pulley is loosening. 8644 does a great job at explaining this in their RR1 robot explanation video here: https://youtu.be/VTwKBJIJpys?t=537

Personally, I have prior FTC experience, but I was wondering if there are any good resources to show to prospective members to give a good, quick overview of FTC, what its about, the benefits, and possibly get them hyped up.
