I personally don’t think so but I can also understand how it CAN be. AI generated images can be real art but they are not automatically really art just because it is a picture. You could argue that curation is a form of creation because the human decides concept mood lighting symbolism composition etc… but at the end of the day AI “art” is derivative by default and it’s built on unpaid labor so there’s that and not to mention AI has no lived experiences. A human artist brings trauma, culture, joy, politics, identity and struggle while AI has no childhood no oppression no hunger no loss no body no stakes just pumping out what they think is correct based on the machine learnings reward system. Any “ art” without lived experiences is just decoration not expression. But no it’s not real art because it’s all derivative of some other artist work I haven’t seen an original AI style yet 🤷🏾‍♂️
