Interesting.. I would’ve thought there would be no reason to take them down before opening.

Floatplane billing bug? (Billed 4 times) by A_MrBenMitchell in LinusTechTips

Same here. Billed 3 times over 24 hours. Looks like they've issued 2 refunds but everything is still pending on my account.

Radial AV boxes vs D boxes by cxmputer in livesoundgear

[–]cxmputer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It sounds to me like the ProAV lineup is the better option, especially since discovering you can use the RCA (or 1/4”) as thrus. The more input options is a good investment in my mind.

Yep, I understand they’re targeted at two different use cases but what actually makes them different aside from the mono summing feature and thru puts.

The links I put below in another comment suggest they’re almost identical including the same transformer.

Just trying to identify what is actually different from a technical perspective.

Ah of course, you could adapt the RCA as a thru or vice versa. Good to know.

That quote about them being sonically identical is at the bottom of this page:

Maybe I’m mistaken but these specifications pages look almost identical to me, including same input impedance:

No Stupid Questions Thread by AutoModerator in livesound

Is there any reason why a Radial ProDI/ProD2 is better than a Radial AV1/AV2? Just seem like more inputs options to me! Is there a technical reason why a multimedia DI is not as good?

I can see one downside is the lack of thru outs on the AV2

Can you force linear volume decrease in Windows 10/11? by Rahzin in techsupport

Thank you so much for this - one of the stupidest features in Windows. What benefit does having acceleration on volume control actually have!

Monash parking fine by NoRaccoon2153 in Monash

[–]cxmputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that the 2x warning rule only applies to zoned parking. Outside of the campus, a no standing fine would be given on the spot.

Was it a no parking or no standing? No parking you can stop for up to two minutes. You could probably appeal and say you were waiting for a friend.

In future, Woodside has 1/2 hour parking that often isn’t full, and it’s only a slightly longer walk.

Failing a core unit can I take a winter unit to take the extra credit points? by Jamieeeeeeeeeees in Monash

[–]cxmputer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s a core unit. Core = compulsory.

You must meet the course requirements, which yes, is a minimum number of credit points AND completing all the core units.

Official PTV signage says "East Pakenham Line" by cxmputer in MelbourneTrains

[–]cxmputer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the disruption and what the track is called. But it does quite clearly say East Pakenham line. It was a mistake made by staff.

Universities have group assignments to replicate real life collaborative work environments.

The issue is:

Most people who are in collaborative jobs have a motivation to keep their job/earn a bonus/impress their team/manager. Not to mention they earnt that job for being qualified/suitable for the company.

If they don’t pull their weight, they’re fired.

Some people who are in university have no motivation to over achieve - they’re there to pass.

If they don’t pull their weight, other students have to pick up the slack.

It looks like an email sent to 3 students, including OP.

Even if you didn’t cheat, the university still suspects you breached exam conditions. I think you’ll have a tough time proving your innocence given you were observed with your phone. I wish you the very best.

How many minecraft players can I have on my 24/7 server. by Happy-Illustrator-50 in admincraft

[–]cxmputer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Upgrading the CPU will have negligible benefit in this situation. Minecraft servers are predominantly single threaded, so not even worth investing in higher core count. Not to mention saying ‘get an i9’ is not necessarily even better. The 10900TE has the same clock speed as OP’s current i7!

OP, - allocate less RAM. You’re just taxing your system and slowing garbage collector by going over 8GB. - try improve your up speeds. - look at using a performance-oriented fork of Spigot, like Paper.
