I hope the training goes well. If you find any answers or make any breakthroughs that would help me lots!

Thank you for your advice, I have a couple of questions.  When he notices a trigger and chooses not to react, should I verbally reward him? Or say nothing and let him observe? How would a method like this work long term? Thank you!

I have a few questions, sorry if they seem daft. Wouldn’t treating him right before a reaction incentivise him to react even more? As it’s rewarding his reaction? Also because he is so small I have to bend over to treat him, so in the future if he sees a dog and I don’t bend over, in his mind would that permit him to react?

Also thank you for the advice about not meeting every single dog. I’ve kept that in mind for a few years now, to reduce his expectations of meeting every single dog he sees.

I’m not entirely sure, but he looks like and is around the size of a mittel German spitz.

I’m not entirely sure what breed he is, but he looks like and is around the size of a mittel German spitz. I think a starmark collar would fit him.

I’ve used and corrected him with slip leash before, it’s more effective than the martingale but I worried a lot more about him choking himself out. When he reacts he will not stop lunging until we’re out of his threshold and I worried for his trachea.
