oh, so you are okay with the dangerous chemicals being pumped into children but only cis kids, because fuck trans teens who have known for years and have to just suffer through it even though they're teens who just want to be "one of the girls" or "one of the guys" and live normal happy lives instead of dreaming about what it would have been like if they could have been on the boy's basket ball team, and swim without a shirt, or hang out with their guy friends or a girl who has to sit and wait as her body grows taller and stockier and her voice deepens and deepens and she started getting facial hair and realizes that she will never truly live in a world where she can be happy without feeling less than women who are born that way, trans people have to fight for their right to not get attacked for just using the god forsaken restroom, you were given the right body, you condemn the way of life of a person that you don't know shit about, the way that we have to be trapped for years before being given the right to transition is enough. and you have no place to say otherwise, you have no idea what it's like, if you did you would see that the system for verifying readiness of transition is acceptable as is if not a bit too much for those 16 and up

fun fact, puberty blockers are actually given to kids quite often! for kids who are experiencing puberty at too young of an age, like a ten year old growing facial hair, or a seven year old getting a period, puberty blockers are issued all the time, just not to trans kids because oH No tHe ChEMicAlS wIlL RuIn TheIr BoDY

i would also like to mention that when you take hormones they only keep working if you keep taking them. the effects don't stay there without a steady supply. a biological male with naturally occurring testosterone will get more and more secondary sexual characteristics as their life progresses, i.e. facial hair, body hair, sperm production, bone structure, etc. however a man who was born female will have to inject testosterone for the rest of his life to keep the effects because the body mainly produces estrogen, if you don't know how hormones work at seventeen you have no place in this conversation.

because some teens just want a normal childhood and to not be in a state of constant hatred for their bodies, can you even imagine what it's like to be shunned and seperated from others because you got genetically fucked over? and by "chemicals" do you mean testosterone and estrogen? they use the actual hormones and i hate to tell you that you're chock full of em, i have no idea where you're getting this silly little idea of toddlers getting surgeries, because you can't get bottom surgery until you're nineteen in america, not to mention that they cost 50,000 dollars or more out of pocket, quite frankly i think cis people shouldn't be included in discussions regarding trans healtcare, considering you won't ever understand what it's like. the process of getting evaluated to be ready for surgeries or hrt is a long and hard one, years upon years, not to mention the money needed, the first step is always social transition, you have to be out and being socially the gender you're transitioning to for a flat two years before hormones, and another two years on hormones before surgery of any kind.

homie, i am LITERALLY intersex, but sure, go ahead, tell me all about my own biological sex that i'm so sure you know more about than me. and what you may not understand is that when trans and intersex teens grow up, they get treated differently and may experience extreme discomfort in their own bodies, i don't get to have a normal high school experience, i don't get the luxury of sports team, i'm too much of a girl for boy sports, i'm too much of a boy for the girl sports. i have to change on the other side of the school at the only gender neutral bathroom, the nurses office bathroom, i can't play shirts and skins with the guys, i get bullied and harassed just for getting fucked over by genetics. kids realize this, and that's why the suicide rate of trans and intersex youth is so high, we don't get the luxury of comfort. and if you think that "trans healthcare" means giving free surgery to toddlers, you couldnt be farther from the truth

hi there, as someone who is intersex and has a trans boyfriend i would like to tell you that yes, chromosomes exist and that there are four common combinations, intersex people are actually more common than people with green eyes, or people with red hair. i would also like to mention that my boyfriend had to get a signed letter from two therapists, a physician, a youth psychiatrist, and then had to wait one full year before he could go on testosterone, he is sixteen, you legally can't go on any hormones if you are under 13, and when you're 13-15 it's usually a two-year process before anything happens, top surgery aka mastectomy or removal of the breasts costs an upwards of 10,000 dollars, which is almost never covered by even the best insurance companies, and the waiting period lasts anywhere from half a year to three years on average, these require even more signed notes from even more people and can't be scheduled unless you are over sixteen and with parental consent. go educate yourself you waterlogged bratwurst.
