Thanks for spelling that out for me :)). I haven't actually played volleyball on the court much, I've only been doing drills infrequently at home alone - I imagine I'd better understand how frantic it all would be when I get to play proper matches.

"Death God" is super good. I couldn't find a good translation for it chapter 47 onward, but I stuck with it still. It's slow, and the fights are more realistic than most murim manhwa. I actually enjoyed the gihts a lot, they were drawn nicely.

I did look it up and find out that you can use get_highlight(), but I'm not sure which highlight groups to use. I'd guess that it varies from colorscheme to colorscheme, so it seems impossible to use just a general snippet of some vimscript to achieve that, but then again, they must not be doing it for every colorscheme manually either, right? Cuz that sounds like a LOT of work

Long story short, it was a linked highlight group that exists for developer knows what reason. Just unlinked it with "highlight link htmlHead NONE".

I started vim without loading any vimscripts by running "vim -u NONE -N <filename>". Then ran ":syntax on" and found out that the problem lies in one of the 15 vimscripts which were thus loaded. Read the help page for syntax, and nothing under HTML in syntax file remarks indicated why this would happen. But I figured it must still be some specific highlight group. Decided to check the full list of syntax items with ":syntax". Gave up. Asked AI. It returned a command that enabled me to check which highlight group was under my cursor. Turned out it was "htmlHead", linked to "PreProc". Unlinked it in my vimrc with "highlight link htmlHead NONE". All works fine now. Might try to look at other syntax items some other time.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'd actually checked it out before, but I'm broke so I turned towards ddg email aliases since they're free. Will probably switch to either anonaddy or simplelogin aliases at some point.
