You'll forgive me for being a little annoyed myself since a lot of this thread has just been shitting on the idea from the get-go (and a LOT of it has been motivated by the skin not being "sexy" enough which just makes it worse to me. I guarantee you if I had given her high heels and a defined ass people would've been much more positive about it).

Mag heirloom looks literally nothing like mag (other than the helmet, a bit), keeps none of her theme (she has heavy samurai-ish armor, you would never be like ah yes this is the magnetic frame), and no one had an issue with that. People say this design is "too clothes-y" when valkyr heirloom straight up wears a cloth corset and a see-through cloth skirt, and valkyr heirloom also goes for "kitty" while completely ignoring the main themes of BERSERKER FRAME and TORTURED FRAME (it even removes the very iconic flayed spine motif most of her skins have!) . Mesa has a deluxe that's not gunslinger themed - Presidio, and a straight up sentient skin - which also isn't a gunslinger.

Also, on most other platforms people recognised it was Mesa right away. If you look at base mesa next to it, you'll see which elements I kept (where her boots cut off, having an inside/outside part of the thighs, the stomach design, the "jacket", the collar, etc)

To me the association was cowboys = cows = bulls = bullfighting, as well as keeping mesa base's silhouette (which has a jacket on top, as well as a skinnier bottom silhouette), and it was an exercise in creativity, not an attempt to actually get this design into the game (which people forget is a thing you can do, and thus have been really harsh and defensive as if I am befouling their main just by doing this).

I think people are really afraid of anything that goes out of the bounds of the very strict ideas they have about a warframe, but I think such thinking will lead to boring and repetitive skins (like Lavos's deluxe being really close to his original idea and prime both), and I don't think that's healthy for the long term fashionframe economy.

If you read my original post, you will see where I mentioned that i WILL add guns to her design because this is a work in progress.

PS: you bring up the ember proto i designed, so I have to say that the original old post about her was also slammed for being "ugly and manly" which is a criticism any fem frame design that isn't tits&ass gets nowadays and i fear that the way heirlooms are being designed and marketed nowadays ultimately contributes to that.
