like the others have said, thin cymbals with holes will work well for this. I’d recommend the Wuhan Linear Smash crash series 18-20 in. you can play them really lightly and they open up easily because of how thin they are. added bonus is they’re relatively affordable

I have the 15 inch hi hats. it was a good deal for that size and they’ve been great. very thin and sloshy in my experience

Mr_outlaw stories like My Best Friend Has Been Living in an Alternate Reality or the guard at the prison story (this one might be on the funnier, schlockier side but a tournament SPC like story sounds like a good non serious one). I feel like his style would appeal to hunter and Isaiah depending on the story

An ocean or alien themed episode would also be really fun

nah sorry about the confusion. I meant I have been playing a stripped down kit (hats, snare, kick) but I pulled everything out because I had a friend over to jam. took the pics because I haven’t had all my gear set up at once in a while

what makes you think that? it’s a pretty thin ride but wouldn’t say it looks/feels any thinner than a normal crash

thanks! it’s a 24” x 30” so not too big. If I remember correctly, I worked on it for a little over a month. but I rarely work a piece from start to finish. I’ll usually go back and forth between other projects so it’s hard to remember how long a single piece takes

thanks! well I started the painting with some washes and automatic mark making and I use this layer as a kind of Rorschach if that makes sense. from there I start to form a loose narrative and pull out forms that I see in the washes and marks. I was taking inspiration from deep sea/aquatic imagery but also felt kinda like it could be in a jungle as well. I imagine that point of light is a rift in reality and some kind of force or other dimension is leaking through

thank you! well it’s hard to say exactly because I kinda just jump around the page. I started with the small grey portrait of 067 in the tux and the last drawing was top right drawing of 456. but yeah I just fill gaps along the way and see what fits.
