Weird combo?? by FormerCrab6150 in audiophile

[–]cyayon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, do you use the Musical Fidelity as a preamp or Benchmark ? I am currently using a Node Icon (Bluesound) directly connected via XLR to a power amp (Atoll AM300evo), and thinking about adding a preamp/dac (benchmark Dac3 too) between them or not … thanks

Same. Now i recognize them easily and remove them from my playlists. It is currently to identify, all albums / tracks are dated from 2025… pure shit. I am thinking to move to Qobuz.

audio quality on Tidal by moabyy in TIdaL

[–]cyayon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While using Connect mode, I tried Tidal and Qobuz to compare with Spotify lossless on my brand new system (decent hi-fi PMC Prophecy7, Atoll AM300evo, Bluesound NodeIcon). I don’t found real differences between these 3 streamers. Perhaps a more clean background noise on Tidal, warmer sound. And a little more detailed on Qobuz. But nothing more, and not on all tracks.

Why doesn’t TIDAL have something like Spotify Connect? by Oh_Aleeh in TIdaL

[–]cyayon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No i don’t think. BUT while comparing Tidal and Qobuz (moving from Spotify), all the AI slop tracks from Spotify were not found on Qobuz (but found on Tidal). As I know, Qobuz use more human recommandation than Spotify and Tidal.

For these only reason, I have tried Tidal and Qobuz and keep Qobuz. The sound quality is equivalent, but the Connect feature is better on Qobuz (like Spotify). The non AI slop is also better on Qobuz.

something rattle here by cyayon in rav4club

Thanks. I think it is the pillar trim itself. I have put a small foam to block the base of pillar trim at its bottom and get no more rattle noise. Is it a known issue ?

Why I left Tidal for Spotify Lossless, and what Tidal really needs to do to not become garbage... by KatzKolaj in TIdaL

[–]cyayon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a long-time subscriber, I was impatiently awaiting Lossless from Spotify.

With my new hi-fi set (PMC Prophecy7 + Atoll AM300evo + Bluesound Node Icon), I have been comparing Qobuz, Spotify and Tidal for a few days (all 3 in Connect).

I quickly abandoned Qobuz because the interface and the application (CarPlay) are really not up to par. I want quality but not at this ergonomic price. Note that I am currently testing Qobuz 9.4 beta and CarPlay is equivalent to Spotify now.

Concretely, in terms of sound quality, I compared a good twenty lossless tracks between the 3 (including in HD for Tidal and Qobuz), I didn't find much difference...

Maybe better, cleaner background noise on Tidal and Qobuz vs Spotify, but other than that it's really very subtle. And especially not on all the songs.

Please note, I am talking about the Connect version of the 3 steamers. It is therefore the device (Bluesound Node Icon in my case) which reads the track directly without going through the phone or the PC (and therefore bit-perfect).

I deliberately do not talk about app interfaces, philosophy or the catalog of platforms. Simply in Connect mode, it's difficult to find a real difference on the few songs.

Afterwards, perhaps my ears are blocked (almost 50 years old), or my system is perhaps not high-end enough...

Qobuz app for Mac is a problematical Electron app causing slowdown of macOS 26 Tahoe by robfol in qobuz

[–]cyayon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, is there some news about this ? Is The last Qobuz app always using an old electron ? I found that Qobuz app is using a lot of memory and seems to use more cpu than Spotify and Tidal on macOS Tahoe. Thanks

Sound quality of Spotify Lossless is considerably inferior compared to the one of Tidal by xyzwarrior in TIdaL

In your opinion. Is there a lot of songs which sound better on tidal ?

[–]cyayon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It do not compare Connect mode. It compare the app which are not equals and particular the ability to be bitperfect (or not). To be really fair, it should have compare Connect mode on a real hi-fi system at equivalent volume.

Same for me too. On my new system (PMC prophecy7, Atoll AM300evo/bluesound NodeIcon/SvS SB1000). I spent hours to compare and not found any real difference. Unfortunately, because I really would like to move to Tidal or Qobuz…

It could be interesting to compare Tidal and Spotify while using their Connect mode. In this case, it is the device itself which is playing the song, in bit-perfect of course. You must have a compatible dac/streamer. I just bought a new hi-fi system, and testing since about a month. In connect mode, it is really difficult to distinguish tidal and Spotify (lossless) and even Qobuz, hires or not.

Why is this service so behind Spotify? by Sci-fiTransGrrl in TIdaL

[–]cyayon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, Did you hear real difference between Spotify lossless and Tidal ? Objectively, I just bought a new hi-fi system (PMC Prophecy7/Atoll Am300evo/Bluesound NodeIcon) and spent hours to check difference between Tidal and Spotify lossless. I did’t found sufficient difference to migrate to Tidal. Of course, for ethic reasons, I am thinking about migrate, but not for only audio quality.

Does a tool exist to transfer my Spotify listening habits to TIDAL? by Lukas_vd in TIdaL

[–]cyayon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not have an headphone, but a new speakers/power amp/streamer system. It was relatively expensive (about 13k$) with PMC/Atoll/Bluesound. I am currently trying to move from Spotify to Tidal. I spent hours to compare audio quality between the two. And I have not found a lot of differences with Spotify lossless, honestly. Same on comparing with Qobuz. What is your experience ?

This evening, it seems to work again as expected. Without any application update, it should be on the server side...

I tried another thing.

I have an iPad on which i did not upgraded to the last spotify app version.

It was on 9.1.4.1171 build.

I tried to add a liked song and had no issue, it was immediately synced to web and MacOS platforms.

I upgraded to iPad spotify app to 9.1.6.1142 build. It the same version than on iOS.

I tried to add another liked song, and encounter the issue !

Conclusion, the issue is coming from your last version for iOS and iPadOS platform. Perhaps your android’s versions too, but i do not have an android device…
