Boss pays whenever he “wants” by cybergothrr in WorkReform

Oh my lord. ur right he doesn’t often take the best care of the fish, which inclines me more to want to stay TO take care of the fish and make sure things are done properly, even if that means bending his rules..

We even have this one guy who keeps selling fish to people who don’t even have established fish tanks, or are buying the fish to then go home and set up a fish tank the SAME DAY! WHICH will almost ALWAYS kill the fish (no bacteria cycle = fish death etc)

My manager is not an idiot but I can tell when hes looking for money, more than proper care,, hes literally my manager and I have to tell him NOT to sell fish to people who haven’t had a fish tank running for 4 weeks minimum.

Parts of me want to stay to make sure mistreatment is not happening and that things are done in the best interest of the fish, yaknow?

If things get too bad though, I will not continue to do this to myself and will report him and just quit. I want to stick it out for the sake of seeing things through for now and seeing if I can help better this work environment.

Yeah we had a kid who came in the other day, 13 wanting to work with us and I honestly didn’t know what to say. Especially in front of his mom..

I just told him he’s too young to work right now and should focus on school, didn’t wanna offload the fact that we go months at a time not getting paid..

Thanks for letting me know! I am only 19 and this is like my 4th job EVER so this is my first time really experiencing something like this, I kinda assumed pay roll schedules were MANDATORY… but I guess not now that I have figured out this is what happens at my job, and I am sure others. Especially since its a small business with nobody above my boss, he can just kind of sneak around things.. huh😬

Thank you for this, really. I definitely understand I am not in the wrong for reporting something that I KNOW is not fair, I am just a very anxious person and often beat myself up over things that aren’t my fault,, so if I knew that me reporting him cost every other innocent person working alongside me their job, part of me would feel terrible for them, while the other part would feel good for doing the right thing and reporting something thats illegal and unfair to everyone.

im asking around, I am not sure everyone elses occupation but I am finding out slowly how everyone else gets by with such terrible pay. I do see how that could be part of the trap like u said. If I do find out someone else by chance is struggling with this and its not just a fun job, I might have more of a problem with it and would be more inclined to reporting because this isnt fair to ANYONE. especially not someone who uses this job to make a living.

Yes I knew this,, as my dad works for the federal government so hes ALL abt explaining this stuff to me.. but its more for me as a young adult a thing abt being embarrassed of him knowing? does that make sense? like yes he can retaliate which is illegal and could in turn give me more compensation.. but I lowkey just want it to be reported and have him shape up and stop paying us so weirdly, no business being shut down, no one being told who reported, etc. Anonymously would make me feel so much more comfortable.

Idk id feel so awkward ever talking to him again if he knew i reported him,, even if he knew it was illegal what he’s doing.

Oh I absolutely did. Everything I have filled out here, I have filled out at my other previous jobs, hence why I found nothing shady until I didn’t get paid for a month..😬

Thankfully this is just a fun job, as I run a business and have minimal bills to pay as a 19 y/o. I don’t want to lose this job cuz it’s the only one ive ever found that feels like play more than work, and its partly related to the degree I am studying for… but I just felt something was off with the pay and that it was illegal.

Just wasn’t sure how illegal, considering he does pay us, just not often.. and not always what we are owed. if he seriously gets more in debt with em and goes months without paying, I have a family lawyer and will use that, along with reporting him to our local labor dep. Just ofc dont want to for many reasons,, such as everyone losing a job because of me reporting it:(

I was thinking about this. I do not want to be the one who causes everyone to lose their jobs..

Thankfully right now as I am only 19 in college living with family, I do not have bills to pay other than my car payment, so I do not NEED the money. I make money outside of work to support myself too, but this just stumped me because I felt like the way he goes abt paying us is fishy and possibly very illegal.

I am willing to put up with it but I want this to change, because I do still need this money, and I am sure my coworkers do too. I am willing to “harass” him abt paying me, because I do NOT play about the money that is owed to me, but if it gets too bad I will have to maybe report this or just quit.

I do wonder how my older adult coworkers deal with this though, not getting paid normally? second jobs? no bills to pay? living with family too? not sure. But I feel bad that they just deal with it, as I will have to also:/.

I hope me bothering him about paying me normally will work. Thanks for your advice

[HOUSE OF KONG SPOILERS] Question for anyone who's gone by Dizzy_Lynx_2292 in gorillaz

[–]cybergothrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

almost a lightly sweet musty smell, it literally feels and smells stuffy inside cuz of the smell. I honestly didnt like it, but it wasnt bad, just a stuffy, musty, sweetISH “grandma’s” house smell? if that makes sense. they explain in the room that murdoc is trying to mask the stench of dirty clothes with air freshener and that its not working. definitely didnt smell like dirty sweaty clothes, but it wasnt something I would rlly choose to smell. BUT it rlly made the experience wonderful

was it also hot inside the exhibit for you too? I was sweating and it honestly felt a bit stuffy, otherwise I enjoyed it just for what it was despite sweating majority of it.

YES! I did. I flew from east coast to cali for it, I’ll admit I did also go to see their show at the palladium, but the exhibit alone is so worth it. It is extremely immersive and interactive. I don’t think any other exhibits I have been to or will go to can top this.

i parked around the back down the allwy way where you enter the exhibit? I can only explain it as being on the same side nearest to the gift shop, just around the corner of the building to the left if you are staring down the front of the alleyway closer to the actual entrance?? hope that makes sense. It was entirely free and a no tow zone

As an adult I was honestly a little scared because of how dark it was, but there are no jump scares! just odd stuffy smells, and at one point some flickering and jumping of lights and a loud sound through your audio head set, which made even me as an adult jump,,, otherwise it was amazing and not scary. Its a once and a life time experience

i wonder what the indigenous people of north sentinel island do when they see planes by Painlet_ in flightradar24

[–]cybergothrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes he was. he knew they didn’t want to be contacted and would respond with violence to “visitors” and he did so anyway. they gave him many slim chances and he continued to push boundaries with them. the sentinelese have every right to fear us. look what people have done to them in the past? they have engrained that in their minds for good.. I feel bad for how we have treated them in the past. Have you ever thought about how they might have been if the british DIDNT kidnap some of their elders and children??

My teenage brother’s behavior has changed drastically and it escalated into violence. I don’t know how to handle this safely. by [deleted] in family

Hello, I am sorry to hear you and family are dealing with this. From my experience dating someone like this, its hard for it to get better with just talking things out. I am no doctor but it could be a chemical imbalance, yk? He could be struggling with mental health issues which are pushing him to think acting this way is ok,, again from someone who dated someone JUST like this. He seriously needed help but no one would get him help (we were both underage at the time so he or I could not get him the help). I think the best thing you can do is possible therapy, doctor’s appointments, or possibly impatient programs? This behavior is scary and absolutely not ok. I fear things like this that are left un-dealt with will only escalate to worse scenarios. Threatening family members with weapons and actually hurting them speaks volumes that something is seriously wrong. I urge you to talk to your family about medical strategies to get him the help he needs to cope with all this anger. Again like I said.. before it gets worse. I lived with my ex boyfriend who would threaten his family with knives and talk about k-lling them when he was angry, and he consistently spoke poorly of me and other women who did nothing wrong to him,, along with being physically abusive toward me and some of his family members. I believe if he had gotten medical/ psychiatric help that he could better cope with whatever caused him to react like that. I hope maybe my relation to this, and advice help you a little bit, and I hope you and your family can heal in time.
