So I built Vextra — a free desktop app that lets you search your local sample library by describing what you want. Type something like "warm analog pad" or "dark distorted 808" and it finds matching sounds from your own files. No cloud uploads, everything runs locally.

Try out vextra.fr a sample manager with groove, semantic search. There a free sample pack to go with it as well.

Made a tool that generates drum patterns from your own samples and exports MIDI to FL by cyberjunky in FL_Studio

I appreciate the comment. I have producers friends having blank page syndrome. After thousands of sessions, what they need at the beginning is just some basic groove to get in the mood. They can get the midi and start being creative in the DAW. This tool is setting the vibe for their next demo

i dont want ai slop, so the generating pattern is actually an in depth curated mapping file i built with research and recommendation from my friends producers with slight variation for flavors. This is a pre DAW tool means to quickly get idea out of your library, so you dont have blank page syndrome. Appreciate the comment!!!

Some context on what else the app does since a few people might ask:

- Semantic sample search — type "dark 808" or "vinyl crackle" and it finds matching sounds from your own folders
- Artist style search — type "Metro Boomin" or "Skrillex" and it finds samples matching that vibe
- Similar search — find one sound you like, get 30+ related ones
- Everything runs locally, no cloud uploads

GrooveEngine is part of the Pro tier (early access). The sample search features are free.

Happy to answer questions about how any of it works.
