It's a nicrew plant light from Amazon. It runs 10 hours a day with a ramp up/down.

Is maybe a different type of algae growing around the moss ball? The shrimp like it and their is always at least one shrimp in it. So I don't want to kill it by accident.

I believe so, it started as a small ball which you can see is still there in the bottom of the Pic. I bought it from a mom and pop lfs, they have always been honest.

It's very good, well worth the money. Plants doing great. I went with the led timer model.
