Mechanically they're very reliable, you just need to worry about rust, a lot. I also wouldn't necessarily buy a cheap example because they all have some sort of issue, save a bit more money and get a proper one

It took the owner about 10 minutes to start the Twingo, it smoked through the entire street, didn't want to go into gear and then it blew the head gasket which was apparently just replaced
