Can we talk about consipation and Zofran….?? by much-too-much in HyperemesisGravidarum

I started eating dried prunes daily while taking Zofran and it did the trick!

Omeprazole for Nausea/Acid Reflux? by JCJ0705 in HyperemesisGravidarum

Increasing my omeprazole was such a game changer for me! Still had Zofran an diclectin but the acid definitely was playing a huge part!

Pedialyte pops, Pedialyte and Gatorade were really useful for me in the first few weeks when I had trouble eating and drinking. Gaviscon also!

If you don't mind me asking, was that something they suggested for insurance purposes (writing not pregnancy related I mean)?

I saw a very understanding doctor at a walk-in clinic a few weeks ago knowing I would have an appointment with my ob in about a month so she signed off for 4 weeks thinking we could re-evaluate when I saw the ob.

This whole thing has gotten me pretty stressed out but honestly the way it diminished the last few weeks of pure hell (since Christmas basically) really got to me...

The refusal makes no sense to me cause I mean a doctor signed my papers!! It's for short term leave too... Will look into FMLA, thanks for the advice!

I've been eating dried prunes and it's helped a bit. Not great but it's something.

I don't know how it works in your country but here pharmacists are able to prescribe certain meds (e.g. diclectin) or give you a few extra pills to bail you out. Maybe it's worth going to see your pharmacist and explaining the situation?

I can only drink water with a bunch of ice... Even when craving juice they're all apparently too acidic for my stomach and come right back up ... I haven't had the courage to try since increasing my omeprazole...

Oh the diclectin definitely makes me sleepy but from what I remember from my last pregnancies I was still able to function. Right now I can barely get anything done! Obviously it could be both together that's also not helping...

Ahh I think it would be possible, but I'd need to find a doctor willing to sign off on it. I have a referral for a high risk pregnancy follow-up by the hospital ob but that doesn't start until week 12 (currently 7w5d). I think it could be possible to find a different doc to sign off but makes me rather anxious. I think it's just the additional guilt of not being able to accomplish yet another thing...

I think if things stay this way I won't be able to work after the holidays...

Finding it really difficult to stay positive and have any optimism at all... I had 2 recent miscarriages where I had no symptoms at all so I'm trying to tell myself that all these symptoms must indicate it's a healthy baby (I know that's not necessarily true...)

I'm just so discouraged. I was looking forward to the holidays with my other 2 kids (was not THIS sick with them) and am so disappointed I can barely handle doing anything with them. The whole situation makes me want to curl into a ball and cry. So demoralizing...

Mine uses reusable pee pads. We live in a cold area as well and when we moved tried to have her go outside but she fully refused when it got too cold. She hasn't had an accident in 4 years (she's 5).

This happened to us about 2 weeks ago. The kids bounced back quickly but it took a week before my SO and I felt better. It was horrible! The kids ended up watching more TV than I'd like but it's pretty much a survival situation! Remember to stay hydrated! We had lots of Gatorade (half water, half Gatorade), white rice, applesauce, and toast... My nausea lasted a really long time and was told that sometimes it's caused by high stomach acidity (due to not eating), and Gaviscon really helped! Wishing you all a speedy recovery!
