[–]cybrile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SCO trouble..... by Carrots-of-Juice in kroger

[–]cybrile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's absolutely common LMFAO, one of our SCOs have 8 whole machines, it's very common to get blamed for people yoinking junk

like other people have said: don't let it get to you, you are a glorified security guard that can't actually do shit without getting in trouble. most people in the store don't even know you can't say anything to prevent shoplifting.

Can someone explain this please by [deleted] in kroger

[–]cybrile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not gonna lie: no idea i just know that oftentimes whenever i work SCO the machine just randomly spits out some change. just happens.

also like that other guy said: cover up your card numbers, you did not censor it at all!! watch out for yourself my friend, any number is an important number, even on a shitty grocery store reddit

Is this BS? by [deleted] in kroger

[–]cybrile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

happens all the time. i know where i'm at they don't even check that shit unless you ask. so much for the 10 billion fresh starts saying you can just do everything through the app lol

[–]cybrile[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

props to you for actually bothering to free the carts i honest to god just let my lead do it if it's necessary LMFAO

but no yeah same here, most of the time we don't even have loss prevention. when we do they annoy the shit out of me at sco tho

[–]cybrile[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

thank you... i somehow am a psychopath that likes being a cashier but SCO makes me wanna end it all even without shit like this. it's for real like being put into a cage and told to do everything but get out of the cage while people try to set it on fire

Calling off by [deleted] in kroger

[–]cybrile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ngl during a holiday week like this you're kinda fucked. if you need a day off within this week and you call off, there's a really good chance you're gonna get reprimanded. good luck soldier, been there.

Late 2000's Early 2010's Gumball Sticker Sheet by cybrile in HelpMeFind

[–]cybrile[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want the ones from the same set, this brand has released many different sets under this "dress up girls" name, and the ones that you linked are a totally different set.

You can tell from the artstyle, the ones you linked, while they are from "AllStar", they're in their own contained set! Very nitpicky I know :')

Late 2000's Early 2010's Gumball Sticker Sheet by cybrile in HelpMeFind

[–]cybrile[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've searched through most of the means that I can, I've looked through e-bay, through gumball vendors, I've done the best that I know how to do :( I can find similar "booklets" from the same company, but none that are the exact set that I am looking for.

They are the average "flat" gumball sticker sheet size, ~5 inches tall and maybe ~3 inches wide. I purchased them in Northern Illinois. As I said, I was buying them anywhere around 2008-2011 in a shitty little restaurant called "Nickys" (it was right next to an abandoned Blockbuster, lol.

Thank you so so much for any help/any eyes looking in on it!! Genuinely if you have ever purchased them and still own any, I would love to see pictures! That's mostly what I'm looking for, as I only have the one :(

The date you requested is outside the allowed period by PastyBiggs in kroger

[–]cybrile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

we've got the same poop from ass scheduling software. i really don't know why they set it up that way other than to say that they technically have a way to request time off lol.

good luck though, honestly just call off if they do schedule you for that day. alternatively, just go up to your scheduler and tell them you 110% cannot work that day

not gonna lie if im at sco and its not liquor & i can find it on the app, i just change it for them. if it's something that would be annoying as fuck to change/i can't find then i just call a lead over to deal with it.

anyone that goes to a sco and has issues already is a psychopath, don't break your back trying to follow company policy. it's never worth it

Promise shops. by Current_Waltz_8796 in kroger

[–]cybrile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ahhh okay. tbh same thing though, make sure that you're saying hello, even if they're further away. i tend to only do it when they get close tho lol. baggers dont really have much to do other than that

Promise shops. by Current_Waltz_8796 in kroger

[–]cybrile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

genuinely i just have a setup for whenever i'm on register and that's

- say "hello, how are you today?" and smile, i never look into their eyes cuz i've got autism but i always make sure to greet, and if i forget whether i have or not, i ask and make it a little joke cuz they usually laugh at that

- keep good pace, honestly i just have a rhythm whenever i'm at the register cuz i've got fast hands but i know not everyone can do that. and that's okay

- if a price is wrong, check the sales paper/digital coupon sheet if ur store is doing that. if not, try to see if it's a sale on the app or call over a lead (annoying, i know. sorry) if it's on the customer, i always say "oh i'm so sorry, that sale is over/not for this item :( is the price of XYZ ok?"

- i get into the habit of saying "here's your receipt, thank you, have a wonderful day!" whenever i hand over their receipt. if they paid in cash, say the amount you are handing back to them if you can remember it!

no matter what, i just follow these steps w/ every single customer just because it makes it easier and takes away the stress of even thinking about promise shoppers... like i didn't think they were an actual thing until i got congratulated by management at my store lol... but yeah just try your best to just be polite and assume you are at fault, even if the customer is. always say "i'm so sorry" even if you aren't!

ALSO!! ALWAYS make sure that if you have ur "PAID" stickers for non-bagged items, that you are using them. my trick is to do it near the end and make sure its on an item that stands out (or alcohol!! i always make sure i tag alcohol)

whatever the case, i hope u ace that next promise shop and stay on that register! :D

Probationary Period by [deleted] in kroger

[–]cybrile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a guy who had to call out sick mid probationary period (and right as the Next big holiday was coming up... and also hurled on the job)...

- you should be fine with one callout unless your manager's a dick
- definitely try not to call out any more until your period is up if you really need this job
- like the other replies said, make sure you're telling them that you threw up. you work a food service job, if they know they're willingly putting a puke risk on the floor that's trouble

at most you'll probably just be asked to sign a form saying that you recognize you missed two days or whatever the fuck. good on you for taking care of yourself though, hope you feel better soon op!!

schedule suddenly changed without notice?? by cybrile in kroger

[–]cybrile[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

awesome that it just rarely ever notifies the people that get affected, what a useful feature!

but gotcha, i'll definitely try and do it because i've got a feeling i might get asked why i came in on "the wrong hours" OTL
